I do remember games prompting me but then again I rarely check all the maps.</p>
<p dir="auto">I totally agree that it would make sense to address this consistently since having units just disappear seems odd to me.</p>

I believe WaW may be an example (from memory).</p>
<p dir="auto">Game notes do address this problem. At the same time it is a game configuration setting, it would be nice to see it handled consistently. Game designers would not need to even mention it in the game notes (should be a plus)</p>

And I thought games where you loose the units prompted you at the end of the purchase phase if you bought more units than you can place.</p>

I would agree though that it should be clear what will happen to unplaced units, today there is no good way to know.</p>
