RE: Categories and/or tags
a variable is a symbol, commonly a single letter, that represents a number, called the value of the variable, which is either arbitrary, not fully specified, or unknown.
Mutatis mutandis, something defined as "variable" inside the xml makes me think of something that is strictly numerical and it is not fixedly defined by the xml itself (that is or may be stored somewhere else). For example, something that the user may customize (for example, called from a potentially editable property).
RE: Read First!
@LaFayette Help and Questions would not make any sense in the moment I surely spot a map bug and want to tell the mapmaker about it. In this case, I would rather tell the mapmaker in an open thread in Maps & Mods, or open a new one myself.
Often with bugs you don't need help (because you can't be helped) and you are not asking questions, you just notice something that ain't right (it's rather the opposite: you are helping the mapmakers or the developers to fix stuff).
I also disagreed regarding splitting the process between maps in development or not, as per current (and I recall @Frostion did too).
RE: World of War Heroes – Official Thread
@Frostion 10 ms is also beyond what a human eye can properly perceive, as it means 100 frames per second (for example, theatres go at 24 frames per second, and YouTube goes mostly at 30 or 60 frames per second). Moreover, if you have any display with less than 100 frames per second, the process will even fail to be fully displayed.
So, I'm not really against running it superfast, but, in this case, as I said, I would suggest to make it actually instant, rather than 10 ms (running all the steps in the background and changing the board view at once when all its done).
RE: AI Development Discussion and Feedback
@luhhlz I'll add a thing I said a while ago; the AI also undervalues double hitpoints units a lot, when deciding purchases. Even in my 270BC Cernel Variant/270BC 40% it almost never buys warelephant units, that about everyone with which I played agree are super good, especially when placements limits matter (like final build up before a major attack or menace of).
No idea what the AI is doing with battleships purchases in WAW (?), but I believe all players agree battleships in WAW are one of the best units, especially for Americans.
