@prastle Noted, thanks.
I am a fan of strategic board- and computer games, I am an IT-interested autodidact.
I love to answer rule questions, moderate discussions and deal with change management.

RE: Reserve Units Tab
It would be nice if there was a tab (say to the right of the notes tab) that allows you to quickly refresh your memory regarding the units bought during the purchase phase.
This would be particularly helpful during the movement phase, (especially for those of us without super good memory). Knowing what to keep in a territory with a factory, (or other production facility) and what can be safely moved elsewhere, is often quite critical.
What about 'history mode'? I am sometimes using this during movement in case I need a reminder.
RE: "battle (location)" button(s)
@general_zod I remember that there were some pull requests after release 3635, that were intended to speed up the game. I don't recall all of them, but at least the "1 battle" issue you mentioned. This one is explained by this pull-request: https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/pull/1643
So chances are that at least some aspects of the behaviours you realized are intentional.
RE: Reimbursement of Unplaced Units
FWIW I just want to add that we have a related issue on Github:
RE: WW2 Pacific 1940 2nd Ed - Why Russia as is?
@sculpt Kiangsu is originally controlled by China. When the game starts, it has been already captured by Japan. See page 8, first paragraph of the Pacific 1940 2nd.ed. rulebook. The same with Manchuria. I tested building Major Industrial Complexes as Japan in both territories - and the engine correctly prohibited placing those factories in either territory.
RE: Installing and running pre-release
@hepps I am not sure this is related to the discussed password issue, as the error message indicates a blocked connection.
Are you on Windows and are you using any kind of firewall?
In this case - as the prereleases go to different installation directories - you need to allow the triplea.exe to be found inside the installation directory to access the web via TCP on port 3304.
This must be done with every release update in case you do not manually change the installation directory.
