EXP Game 4 Trout vs barnee
-
I've decided to change the US Ftr Ace to red same as G. That way all the inactive ACs can have a blue nose. SSR Ftr Ace with a yellow nose will be the only one different. I don't think red would look good with it.
Panzer working on some more kick ass ones
So blue is AC inactive. Orange is AC active. Red is Ftr Ace for G and USA. Yellow is Ftr Ace for SSR.
Here's the two you need to swap out in Americans units folder.
Trout: Axis
barnee: AlliesGame Version 2.4
EXP Game 4 Trout G 1 Start.tsvg
@Trout The reich is up.
Edit
You will need to save the Game Version you are using with Panzer, as that game won't work with 2.4. I fixed the spelling of "Luftflotten" so you'll need to swap back and forth.Or we can wait until your game finishes. However you wanna do it. I just keep a folder of each that I can copy paste/remove as needed.

@beelee WHAT IS THIS? Is "Play by Forum" some way to play online ?
How do I learn more?
Also I attached what seems to be the "normal" start to the EXP Game 4 Trout G 1 Start.tsvg that you posted because I am trying to figure out the typical start to this game?
After German 1, assuming the Germans purchase a BB and Cruiser (which is weird I know), the 96% result is German taking all of France, all of the British ships are gone from around the UK and everything else (like grabbing to minor allies) has been done.
I'm asking is this is the typical start to this game? And where I can learn to play games on line with you folks...
Thanks

@beelee OK. and I will try to not take 6 months to respond to you this time, hahaha.
-
@beelee Man I am glad you thought of that! I will see if I can figure out how to save current version and then toggle back and forth. If not, I guess will need to wait until after Panzer Game. But will give it a shot or two or three to see if I can figure out how to go back and forth with Game Versions
-
@beelee Okay, looks like not user friendly for an IT illiterate like myself. If you are itching for a tussle, we can start a game on 2.3.5 or do it on 2.4 after my Panzer Game is done.
-
heh heh so have 2.35 and 2.4 in there separate folders. i just put mine on the desktop but I'm sloppy lol.
Open your triplea folder
downloadedMapsthen swap versions from there. No biggie though
we can wait if you want.
-
@beelee I'll work on it to see if I can get it right. If not, yes may need to hold off. It took me awhile to get TripleA loaded correctly and working. Don't want to mess it up somehow which is possible with me.
-
yea so open up your triplea folder go to downloadedMaps and copy UHD Boxes to a Folder called EXP 2.35. I think that's what you are on.
DL latest 2.41 and put it in a EXP 2.41 Folder. Then delete/copy/paste as needed.
I will screen shot it
-
So go to your current triplea folder. This is mine
I open triplea and go to downloadedMaps
Open that and you get to UHD Boxes EXP w/e it's called lol
That's your current EXP Map. Move it to a folder called EXP 2.35 or w/e and I just put it on the desktop. Then DL latest 2.41 with Download Maps when you first start triplea.
Now 2.41 will be in your triplea downloadedMaps. Copy it and put it in EXP 2.41 next to 2.35 and you can open copy paste between the two.
I'll go through it now
Edit
I have 2.354 hilighted hereInside of it I have EXP Version 2.354
I copy it and paste it into the downloadedMaps folder
I now have 2.354 in triplea.
To remove it, I delete and add the new one 2.41 using the same process.
Always copy/paste from your Main or as Github likes Master folder
Don't delete. Only delete in the downloadedMaps folder or replace.
I open downloadedMaps and delete global 40 expansion uhd boxes. then open 2.354 0r 2.41 and copy/paste that folder int DL maps
-
@beelee Thanks. So I copy/pasted EXP 2.3.5 into a new folder within Downloaded Maps. Easy enough. So I see where that puts both that and 2.4.1 into my PC. Question then is:
-
When Panzer posts a turn in 2.3.5, it currently just pops up when I click on the link. But what would I do differently if 2.3.5 is moved to its own folder and I put 2.4.1 where 2.3.5 was?
-
I believe that would result in turns posted in 2.4.1 just popping up when I click on the link (just as it does now) But what would I do for turns posted in 2.3.5?

Hi Trout
Yea so if you put 2.41 in downloadedMaps and open your save with Panzer you will get an error. No centers/polygons ... for Luftloffen or something to that effect.
Vice versa, if you open a save made in 2.4 with 2.35 in downloadedMaps you will get the same error except it will be for Luftlotten.
The key is to always copy paste so you don't lose 2.35 or 2.4. Not a huge deal if you do. They can be recovered. Deleting 2.35 will require a few more steps unless you can just dig it out of your trash.
I have so many variations that it's hard for me to make sure I get the right one if I do that. That's why I always change the xml number.
Edit
Just to clarify you can only have one or the other in DL Maps. It has to be just the folder "global_40_expansion_uhd_boxes" in DL Maps. They will both be named the same, so that's where the swapping back and forth comes in to play.
Edit 2
Basically when Panzer posts to your thread you will DL the save and add it to your saved games and then make sure 2.35 is in dl maps.Hmm maybe PBF does it different ? Idk
-
@beelee I think what you are saying is that I can create two folders within Downloaded Maps, one for 2.3.5 and one for 2.4.1. Than if I do that, when a turn is posted, it will pop up without issues because the PC will just recognize which one it is and open it in the correct version. Is that correct?
-
No you can only have one folder in DL Maps. They will both be the same name.
I will post an example
This is downloadedMaps and the hilighted folder is 2.35.
To switch to 2.4 you would delete the above hilighted folder. Go to where your 2.4 Folder is located. Open it and copy/paste back in to DL Maps.
So you'd have a folder named 2.35 with the map inside of it and one named 2.4 with the map inside of it.
The ones that go in DL Maps have the same name so you have to have them in separate folders
Edit
You should get a notification whenever someone posts to your thread. I use PBEM just because I know how to do it and never bothered with the PBF partEither way they're interchangeable.
Edit 2
I guess you could put the folders in DL Maps. I've never tried it. I'll do it now.Nope that doesn't work. Get 3 EXP UHD Boxes then lol
-
@beelee Aah! I think I got it. So I would create folders for 2.3.5 and 2.4.1 where they permanently reside for safekeeping. Then if we play a 2.4.1 game, I need to have that one in Downloaded Maps. If Panzer sends me his turn in our current game which is 2.3.5 then I would delete 2.4.1 from Downloaded Maps and load 2.3.5 then open the turn for my game with Panzer. Do I have that right??
