@johnnycat Yes I know about that. You can ignore it. You do have to declare war if you want to get in the fight but no free IPC’s. When I declared war on G that nullified the 10 IPC bonus

I moved 4 Land Mines 1 space and activated them on the Slovakia - East Poland border.
I tried hard to find that kind of mine in the Changer but all I could get is G Land Mines Active

By rule, you have the rest of Turn 6 to counterattack and kick me out of Berlin so we can continue with that if you like. Doesn't look likely unless the dice go more than crazy in your favor. Also Soviets sitting at 150 for income now so would be very hard for Axis to overcome that even if you pull out a 1% chance of victory with the Berlin counter-attack.

If I thought that was even possible I would have put the 4 mines along that border and sent 3 fighters there.
Is this another case of super powers I do not know of?
I even mentioned this to you in my note last night.
So look I am not into winning and loosing through little tricks - and if my Operation Sea Lion was successful without being spoiled by another trick I could not has known, I would have banned it from future play and that is what I have done with the other guys I play.
I want to put time and thought into this game and get to turn 15 - 20 and learn all I can. So please explain these super powers and I will redo the turn. I'm actually surprised that you would not first tell me of the weakness. Like I said I saw the move but figured there was no way your 5 guys could take out 16

@johnnycat Absolutely - no issues with your suggestions so yes please redo your G6. So I had six guys plus an entire Army Group (page 47 of the rulebook explains them). That Army Group contained one Tank Army/one Commissar Army/nine dudes/1 arty. So that was in addition to the six dudes. So all of that plus my TacB and a few other tanks/commissars constituted the wipeout. Yes, if you redo G6 and put together a really good defense, that should hold against the Army Group in Poland.

@johnnycat Operation Sea Lion can be successful within the rules. I have one game against Panzer and one game against Beelee which you can look at where I won doing that. Just need to ensure that you have fighters in W. Germany that can scramble plus some 2/3 surface ships at least. UK only has a few air units and if they do a Taranto Raid, then they only have very few for Home Defense.
Do what you want with your friends but I think without those rules, it creates some imbalance where the Axis can too easily do a Sea Lion. For example, you could come really close to having a situation where UK cannot possibly do a Taranto Raid and prevent OSL at the same time.

@trout Thanks - sounds like just cleaning up the non-com moves of G 6 should keep this thing going and interesting, thanks.
Oh and I looked into it again and still got a 8.5% chance at victory for Russia. I guess I just concluded that with such low odds you would not try - but then why not try right? I will be sure to keep that in mind in future situations.
I armed the 4 mines on the Berin/poland border and flew in the 3 fighters.

I am starting to build a list of more or less essential must do things for each team.
Russia 5 for example must be able to buy those 26 cheap conscripts
Germany should build elite and those super soldiers conversions but maybe avoid much of the special units in the early game
And UK has a bunch of things like India MUST get all 20 IPU every turn.I'll have to learn more about Italy next I think.

@johnnycat I just looked at your file and it will still be a wipeout. Okay, here is what I can bring to bear on Berlin this turn.
- 14 infantry
- 1 artillery
- 9 tanks and one Tank General which will roll 14 dice attacking at a 3
- one inactive Commissar which will attack at a 2
- 1 Tac Bomber
- Two dicee rolls at 4 from the Army Group
So average 1st round hits that you will take are: 73/6 = 12.16 hits which would cut down almost all of your dudes. Your average 1st round hits are: 49/6 = 8.16 hits. Then second round will be:
65/6 = 10.83 hits which will wipe you out. You will counter with 27/6 = 4.5 hits which will not even kill all of my dudes. So not worth me doing the R6 unless you revise. -
@trout WOW I am complete missing things - how you get 14 infantry?
I sure. hate those upper boxes and having pieces sort of "hidden" under those markers. I'm not blaming you or anything I am just saying that part of the problem is that I don't see any units but I can learn that.
I just don't see how you have so many dudes.
