@johnnycat Once somebody goes through waffle training they cannot go back. Also no mixing of normal Germans and Hitler-fanatics in armies. For your factory question, yes to can upgrade and no to same turn

@johnnycat for waffle armies, the grumpy Gruppen hits double and one of the units in the army hits double also. So six dice rolls total

ok so I can build 3 guys in Western Germany then build the upgrade to regular size and build 10 guys the next turn?

The weird thing here is panzer general Waffle House version
Because that makes no sense when compared to the regular way of 1 PG and 5 other tanks
If Waffen, its kist 1 PG and 3 other tanks. That is not consistent. What am I missing?

Hi Cat
All waffen Armies have a total of 4 units. The Oberst or SS Panzer General commanding 3 other Waffen units.
Waffen Panzer Army has to be all Waffen Panzers and the SS PG
The other Waffen Armies can't have Oberst in them unless they are the Commander. So can't have 2 Oberst in one SS/Waffen Army
You could upgrade the now Minor in W GER to Hvy Industry for 2 bucks this turn and then place 4 dudes this turn. Next turn when you update to Major, you lose the Hvy Ind boost.
So just a Major produce 10 spot for that turn

@beelee Thank you but West Germany needs to go back to large and I need to know the steps and so can I build 3 guys there this turn as normal, but then add the 20 IPU upgrade to large factory ?
Then build 10 guys next turn ?

@beelee what is the benefit of upgrading any tanks to waffen? Seems like a down grade since it can only hold 4 units and the normal Panzer general and 5 tanks are 6 units

yea that is a bit of a gray area between OOB and HRE. I see it as you can upgrade to Minor Hvy Ind to place 4 this turn but then IDK if you can Upgrade to Major same turn.
I'm guessing one or the other. So that'd put the Major upgrade off a turn if you just upgraded to Minor this turn.
I guess you could ask the Captain at the other site but I would say you can only do one or the other the same turn.
I've been wrong before though

@beelee omg that is confusing. So Trout invaded like turn 2 when I did not know about this stuff so the big factory turned to small for some reason.
So I just want to know the best path to get back to large

I would upgrade to Major this turn. Place 3 with your Minor as the Major upgrade won't take affect until next turn per OOB rules

yes place the Major 2nd place. Test it out just to make sure but OOB rules state that the Upgrade is placed same as the other units.
lol Actually I have to look up how OOB does it but that's how you should do it

@johnnycat Yes, I would just pay the 20 and upgrade to major this turn. Can place three this turn and ten next turn - or twelve next turn if you pay the 20 and then on next turn upgrade the major

So I studied this move like a chess game and all went great until after I rolled and got reasonable results I realized I missed a battle. hahaha. I did in fact have guys that could have taken your paratroopers in Bulgaria.
I am just not used to making the connection to fighting units and those little markers... so only after all the battles got rolled did I see a little "1st" marker in northern Italy that could have done it... Oh well, live and learn. Tell those guys to enjoy the town - they will be smashed next turn - except you can fly them away !

So my dream came true
And I built a German factory in Persia.
BUT QUESTION with my answers: Can I upgrade that factory to make 4 guys? (YES) Next turns of course. Can I make More than 4 guys there ever ? (NO) Can it be underground? (YES but small)
Sorry but I just cannot figure out the rules clearly on this because of my brain.

I also want to know what the ELITE tanks are ideally for. Should I have them in those special little groups of 6? Like in the board game we get to specify which units get the extra rolls - so should I put my elite tanks inside those army groups? Or maybe they are better just being there?

Yea so you can't upgrade new Fctrys to Hvy Industry. Only Fctrys you originally start with. And only the original owner can upgrade them.
So you gonna max out at 3 in Persia. Might wanna get Iraq on the same program

Oh yea the Elite Tank. Yea you can only use it in a Army Group as part of the 10 land unit requirement.
Get 2 rolls for the price of one
I kinda like em for defense in lower intensity areas
