        @redrum I couldn't plan to plunder this much Material. I didn't really have an elaborated plan for Japan - just build the early J2 Barracks on Borneo, use the Factory in Korea and react to what happens.

        I love this game as it stands now. I always wanted to play a TWW where Axis wins on one side and Allies win on the other. Now it's about "do I win faster or do I try to help the other side". Feels like I'm behind: Italy is terrible, Germany is in bad shape but not dead, and Japan is winning.

        This and the last Japan move, I spent so much time on. Check if Singkiang and Calcutta can both be forced. Decide how much to use. And now even harder: Do I kill East-Madras (the tank can blitz!) or do I sink the Australian fleet. (I'm lucky the German sub won the coinflip). Do I press the North-China route or do I turn to Chungking. So many strategic decisions.

          @Gully Yeah, this is a major turn with some tough decisions for Japan.

          I realize one thing that is about to come up again that came up last game is whether we are allowing materials to be moved the same turn they are captured? Not sure we quite got an official ruling from @Hepps last time but he was leaning towards that they shouldn't be moved until the following turn.

          And yeah, this seems to be turning into an Allied KGF in some ways even though the US has mostly focused on the Pacific. You've played Japan pretty close to flawless as I don't think that I've made that many mistakes with the Pacific Allies but they are doing well.

            Ugh, right. I didn't even think about it not being allowed. Good thing you mentioned before I moved Japan. It is pretty high-impact. Hmmmm. I need to think about this.

            Last game it was about Finland, right? Where the game engine made the material German, and you couldn't move/use it until it became Finnish instead. Something like that.

              @Gully Yeah, the engine is kind of inconsistent as it allows it for majors but not minors territories (has to do with initial material ownership). Last game we had already done a few moves around moving materials the same turn so decided to just stick with that and apply it for minors as well in that game.

              But I think long term @Hepps wants to either add an player enforced rule not allowing it or updating the engine/map to enforce not moving them.

                so how do we rule it now? Can I move material in the turn where I captured it (from destroying a non-Russian facility)? I'd say yes, since it isn't covered in the rules and default is "what the engine allows is legal", and last game we did it too. But obviously I'm not neutral here.

                  @Gully I pinged @Hepps to see if he has an official ruling at this point (which would then be added to the TWW thread and eventually to the manual). If so I'd say we go with that otherwise we'll have to make a decision and stick with that for the rest of this game.

                  What the engine allows is a bit inconsistent as it works for majors territories but not minors. So I think we probably want to go one way or the other to either allow always moving captured materials the same turn (so can edit for minors) or never allowing them to be moved the same turn (player enforced not moving them the same turn).

                  And yes, allowing it tends to favor the Axis since they are more on the offensive in most areas.

                            Turns out the move isn't that much different. If I can't move the Material, edit it back to Singkiang. I'll put the Truck somewhere, Hunan or something.

                              @Gully Alright. If I don't get an answer from @Hepps soon then we'll just allow it. Interesting choices. Seems that this game is starting to open up a bit and should be interesting the next round.

                                I had another version of Japan6 where moving captured Material was done excessively. All North-China, Singkiang and Calcutta only taken minimally, grab all the Mat (except one in Calcutta) and turn onto Chungking. Chungking would always fall in Japan7 in that scenario. Still decided against that... not because of the rule issue, I just like this outcome better.

                                  Does the material thing actually change anything about your moves? If not we can edit it until Japan 7. That being said I would like to see what you where planning to do.

                                    we are happy to see your advances. Looks like your highly specialized infantry training allowed you to successfully occupy empty cities. Congratulations on that. You must know that the Battle of Crete was merely a planned decoy to pull the Britons away from India - what is called a Gambit. It was totally not just overlooked by our planners. Good job taking advantage of that.

                                    However, our own doctrine requires to stand toe to toe with the enemy. They say, step carefully and carry a big gun. The Big Bertha is operational and on her way to combat. Just look for the biggest gun possible, then invent a bigger one.

                                      I'll be offline for the next few days. Thursday is a holiday here and I'll do a short vacation on the extra-long weekend. So no need to rush the next move, I'm probably not even available for a scramble/OOL decision.

                                        @Gully Ok. Sorry, this past weekend was Memorial Day weekend in the US so ended up a bit busy. I should be able to play my turn today or tomorrow. Enjoy your vacation!

                                        I did talk to @Hepps and he does want to make it illegal to move materials the same turn they are captured as that fits better with how other captured units can't be moved the same turn. I asked him earlier to post that to the TWW thread and we will probably look to try to get the engine to enforce that for the next release but until then it'll be a player enforced rule.

                                        So I think we should probably go with that for this game. Let me know if that works and what edit you'd like for the material/truck around Singkiang.
