      Hi @Trout

      Since this your first game, I suggest you play Allies, as Germany has the most special units.

      I just pinged @VictoryFirst but it's late where he's at. He's been pretty busy, so I don't expect him to have time to play but if he does, he can jump in at any point.

      Hopefully he can send some advisors or even a SOG or two 🙂

      I'm in central USA fwiw 🙂

      I'll probably go step by step till you get the hang of triplea and how it works with the mod.

      This is just the start of Game with Changer. He's everybody's buddy. Makes the LMs and Increased Pacific Islands work 🙂

      So, you DL the save and put it in your savedGames folder which is inside your triplea folder. Usually, you want to do a test turn in "Start Local Game".
      Once you are satisfied with it, Restart the save and hit "Play By Email". Bottom right will show that "Dice Server" is on.

      At end of turn, you hit "View Turn Summary" and ctrlc ctrla. Then make a new save and post to the thread.

      Scramble 110 or 111 ?

        Hey beelee. I am not keeping up with you so far. I downloaded the G40 map with Captain's HRE and downloaded the Start Game link so my screen is showing the starting map. But I can't tell how to save the file or go from here.

          yea, so click on the save and download it. Then you want to to

          triplea folder
          savedGames
          put the save in there.

          Then you can fire it up in local mode and go to History, top left under Game, or ctrlh and click on what happened.
          The first German turn is kinda busy, but their purchase is about 2/3 of the way down on purchase.

          Oh yea, just heard from @VictoryFirst and he's real busy but would like to be part of your first game 🙂 He was thinking he could be USSR and ANZAC and you can do the heavy lifting with Uncle Sam and the blokes.

          Anyway, you can discuss here or start a chat with him. You click on his icon/avatar thingy and then start a new chat with VictoryFirst

          heh heh late in the day and i got a buzz on 🙂 So, for right now, just need to know if you want to scramble to the above battles in 110 or 111.

          I'll then finish my turn and post the turn summary and the save along with any comments.

          Then you can DL save, see what happened and run a test turn in Local mode, then fire up the save again and hit "Play By Email" do your turn. and hit "View Turn Summary" and copy it by going ctrla ctrlc, then make a new save and post to the thread.

          We'll get you sorted 🙂 I struggled my first time, actually multiple times lol but I was an outlier 🙂 you'll pick it up quick

            Thanks. I am playing a local game now to get a feel for the mechanics. So far I have only come across two issues. First is I cannot figure out how to do Strat Rail Movement. Second is that it appears you can build your units and then move them same turn which is against the rules. Everything else appears to be fine through R1 turn

              yea, so for rail movement click on the rail and move if needed to where the dude is you wanna move. Then click on it and the dude at the same time and they'll move.

              After your done, the Rail will disappear at end turn. It's player enforced to only use it once as triplea will allow you to move it again after you're done transporting the unit

              So there are two place phases. The first place phase, those units can move or be used that turn. Most units will place normally in 2nd phase.

              The Game Notes are pretty extensive. They're under the Help tab top left side.
              I also keep a copy of the rules in a separate window for quick refrence, actually two, one for table of contents and one to scroll where I want to go.
              I find it pretty helpful.

                @beelee Hey beelee. I got your response on the SRM and tinkered around with the local game for mechanics so I'm game for giving it a go if you have some patience with me. I am playing Allies with my teen-age son. So he is playing UK/France/USSR and I am the rest of them. Tell VF thanks and maybe I and my son can play him in the next one. I asked my son who goes by the handle "Mussolini Pizza Emperor" and he said no scramble so fire away!

                        So the save worked for local but not PBEM mode. I will walk through the process. No worries. 🙂

                        So load the G1 save EXP Game 1 Trout G1edit.tsvg

                        Then after you run a test turn in local mode reload save and switch to "Play By Email"

                        Then when it fires up you should see " Dice Server On" bottom right. That means you're on the game that counts 🙂

                        and start it in "Play By Email" and do your turn again.

                        If you want, save after your combat buy and post that, so we can see if you have PBEM working.

                              When i save I name the save for game and Player rd so it's easy to see which one it is.
                              There is another way to do it with Play By forum, but I don't want to give you too much info all at once 🙂

                                  Oh yea, was gonna show you how to form Corps/Armies.

                                  So you have a Commisar and 3 Tanks in Moscow. Not sure what Pizza man wants, but he can switch to his preferred makeup obviously 🙂

                                  We'll go with 2 Tanks and a Mech in this example.

                                  Usually, you can move in Non combat move, but early game, you usually have to edit in and out.
                                  So we remove the Commiesar, 2 Tanks and a Mech from Moscow and add those units to 1st Corps with the exception of the Commisar.

                                  He is activated, so we have to change him to "Commisar_3". This means he'll give his bonus shot to a Tank.

                                  Then we edit in 1st Corps to Moscow and it'll look like this

                                  These Armies and Corps will sometimes Form and Deform throughout one's turn, so sometimes you don't put them in the Box if you know you'll be using them to attack or reform.

                                  Anyway, thought Mussolini might like the visual. I know I do 🙂

                                  Then when you want to move them from the Box, you use edit "Perform Move or Other Action" and you can pretty much crank him around howevere you want.

                                  Rules are player enforced at that point. Game Notes explain it pretty well and I will further as it comes up.
