Yea I understand the logic by doing it that way and thought about it for a similar playstyle. I was gonna leave the boxes full, as well as have the units on the board and remove from the Box when disbanded but for a new player, I think it's best just to move them back and forth to get used to the game mechanics of it. Or just don't use them until needed.
Once experienced, it's pretty easy to see what's what, except for maybe a AG.
I think it's fine to leave the box empty as long as everyone knows whats what. Pnzr Armies are easy enough and Corps if you got 3 Tanks in them.
