    WAW 1940 Mod for Transport casualties

      Since the last time I played this, I noticed now that, for instance, France has a port and factory in Canada (!?). Keeps France in the game longer. I'm OK with it. However, I have a strong suggestion.
      Can we get a mod that does NOT allow taking casualties from Transports before ships/planes with a Combat value?
      As an original playtester of AaA from the 'dawn of time' back at Nova Games, we struggled with that as an issue. It was never fully resolved.
      AaA is a much different game if you have to take losses from units with a non-zero Attack value first, before taking from the Transports. Makes it MUCH more interesting.
      Can no longer send in a BB with 10 Transports and destroy any fleet that is, say full of 6-10 Combat units.
      Would LOVE to see that Mod.

        There is a game option "Transport Casualties Restricted", which would allow transport units only to be taken as casualties last after all other attacking/defending units are removed. It's for version 3 rule set, where Transports attack and defend at 0. WaW follows version 2 rule set as Transports defend at 1. Also, WaW does not have this property. To add the property, open the WaW xml (World_At_War.xml) in a text editor, search for 'propertyList' and add the following:

        <property name="Transport Casualties Restricted" value="false" editable="true">
           <boolean/>
        </property>
        

        Now the setting can be changed under 'Map/Game Options'.
