                Can I land my Bombers on regular carriers? 1 per ship? (I know you can use that ratio on the heavy carriers.)

                Background is that I moved them to attack but then realized after rolling that they cannot land anywhere but the carriers (2 moves remaining)

                  Yea you can only land on Hvy CVs. Right now it allows all Bmbrs to land on any CV for any Player.

                  I have changed it in next update so that you can't land them until Hvy CVs become available and then only for JPN and USA.

                  You still have to PE them though.

                  Also you can land 2 Bmbrs on a Hvy or 1 Bmbr and 2 other Planes.

                  so you got Bombard hits and you have to be careful not to send too many Ships. You only had 7 dudes and fired 9 Bombards. So in that case you would've just had your CAs join in NCM.

                  You only got 4 hits so no biggie I'd say there.

                  Then we discount two of the Bmbr hits. I count and I think triplea basically does as well, the cheaper unit first. So the 4s would go Tac and then 3 Bmbrs.

                  All of that still adds up to all the Yanks dying. I guess just move your Bmbrs back to their starting position and move them in NCM.

                  I haven't looked at any of your other battles yet because you would've used them there. Will see if it would have made a difference.

                  So you had 3 Bmbrs you could have used. Here's start of Combat

                  It seems logical that you would have sent 1 more Bmbr to Suiyuyan as you only had 1 Air unit there. The other 2 support 2 of the other 3 battles.

                  Suiyuyan is the only one where it may have made a difference.

                  So I suggest rolling for 1 Bmbr and if he hits then change control to JPN and put your dead dude and Bmbr back.

                  If that all seems reasonable to you, you can use the in game Dice Roller, just take a pic of it or the dicebot at the other site.

                  If your Bmbr misses then you'd still suffer the original losses and outcome. Just the additional Bmbr would live.

                  Anyway, if that's not to confusing I am OK with that outcome.

                  Actually the Shensi battle would have been affected too. Manch and Korea both had 4:1 attack ratio so it seems you'd have sent anothet Bmbr to Shensi too.

                    You could land them on heavy carriers in SZ20.
                    To do this, you would have to buy two, but you can only buy one per turn.
                    So one bomber would have to be lost...
                    To do this, you would have to adjust your purchase, but you would need the Allies' consent.

                    I also saw that you bought a Hvy Minor Upgrade.
                    Unfortunately, you can only upgrade ICs that have existed since the beginning of the game.

                          @beelee Thanks all for the feedback (including the detailed break down), I'll take another look at this tomorrow and see how I can fix it the easiest. I think I'll re-do the turn taking one of the transports from Russia down to make up for the naval fire limitations, I'll send my Bombers somewhere else (in range) and likely place it to take a hit on one still to keep it somewhat similar to this outcome.

                          For the shore bombardments, if I have 1 INF supported by a heavy battleship, do I get the usual 2x dice or do I still get capped at the 1 die/INF?

                            No worries.

                            Yea the Hvy BB will give 2 support shots even if you only have 1 dude. It should only give 1 shot in that case but triplea can't do that. So 2 Dudes and a Hvy BB and a CA would give 3 shots when should only have 2.

                            So in the first example you would need to hand roll and then edit that into the battle.

                                I'm thinking maybe you don't understand how the NMs defend. You placed 3 in 31 SZ defending 32 SZ. That means they only defend from any ships in 32 heading into 31.

                                That's highly unlikely to happen. Same with the ones in 26 defending against 25. That means Ships in 25 moving into 26 would have to cross them.

                                Anyway it seems you would want 31 defending 26 or moved to a different area.

                                Let us know your thoughts on that

                                  @beelee My understanding is that if I place them in SZ31 defending SZ26 that you could conduct mine sweeping operations.

                                  By placing them in SZ 31 along SZ 32, you would have to take out my blocker (escort) in one turn, but could not de-mine the area until your following turn (effectively acting as a longer delay). Alternatively, if you do take out the blocker, you would still be exposed to the naval mines in your non-combat movement phase.

                                  Similarly, for SZ 26 to SZ 25, if the USA pushes towards Japan this turn (hypothetically), they would be forced to either risk the mine damage or leave behind the corresponding number of escorts to remove them.

                                  Is that a correct or am I missing something?

                                    yea so you deployed the mines in 31 defending against 32. That means the mines in 31 will only defend against Ships sailing from 32 into 31.

                                    Same with 26 defending against 25. Ships sailing from 25 to 26 would be the only ones crossing the NMs.

                                    They work basically same as LMs for which borders they defend.

                                    Yea so if you placed the 31 LMs at 26, The yanks could send 2 Escorts in CM to get 6 sweep rolls at them. They also have to send any attacking Ships to engage the JPN Escort.

                                    If they don't, then JPN Escort defends and the 2 US Escorts don't because they already did their mission. So if the JPN Escort misses or hits, any survivors then have to retreat back to 26 in which case the NMs won't defend.

                                    We haven't used these a lot but that is my understanding of how they work.

                                    If a attack also takes place with other Ships on the JPN Escort, then all Mine sweeping operations take place, then any NMs left have to be crossed and losses, if any, taken. Then the remaining Ships conduct regular combat against the JPN Escort.

                                    Also, the Minesweeping US Escorts could still be taken as casualties against any NM hits.

                                    Also any surviving NMs that weren’t swept would defend against the Minesweeping Escorts before the JPN Escort would defend.

                                    So one would need to do their Full attack, handroll for sweeping and NMs defending and then fight the battle in edit to allocate losses and hits correctly.

                                    Even if no Mines are swept and no Mines hit, you still need to fight in edit so the Minesweepers won't participate.

                                    I guess I could make a special Escort Minesweeper with no Combat value but we already have a pile of units. If it seems easier to have one I will go ahead and do it.

                                        @beelee Yes, what you have makes sense.

                                        But with the way I layed them along SZ31/32, I believe you cannot conduct sweeping operations this turn as it is hostile waters. (you would have to eliminate my Escort in that SZ. Then next turn you can either sail though the NMs (rolling for hits) or then conduct sweeping operations.

                                        I don't think it matters if ships are coming to/going from a SZ, so long as the boats cross that 'boarder' they would trigger the mines.
