made some progress but still no joy. I've got the stable running on windows now. I'll try and get the pre running tonight and get back to the game while I keep working on ubuntu.

Well I almost got across the finish line but something is looking FUBAR. I finally asked the ubuntu guys but no joy there either.
I'll wait another day in case the guy I've been talking to has any more ideas.At any rate, for now I just installed to the flash drive. I need to dick around with settings and see if I can get this to show up on the monitor.
It's just on the laptop for now. Gotta hide the sidebar.Think I remember how to do that stuff lol If not It won't be too harsh for Italia. Hmm ... see if works pbem too. Well will get it sorted one way or another.
Looks like Dan has been kicking ass on 2.7, so we'll have to try out some live play when time permits. Me an Alex only an hour apart and seems as if Herr Panzer is usually on later at night Trout time, which is the same as me.
Anyway, it'll be way cool if we can that going. Can always run a test game to help get the bugs out.

@alexander Nice! I have been to Japan a few times. One of my favorite places. The food there is quite different than here in the USA but if you are good with that, then not much to dislike about that place. It is quite expensive though so be prepared for that.
