        @wirkey Yeah, if you don't mind just rerolling those battles. Shouldn't change too much since Russia doesn't have many non-combat moves.

                                    @wirkey Really? I ran the battle locally before we actually did the rolls and it let me retreat then though it was before I had run the other sea battle. I ran all the other battles first in the actual rolls just to get them out of the way. Does the order you do the sea battles matter to determine retreat locations?

                                    @Panther Any insights here? I don't think I've ever had this situation before. TWW is probably closest to Global 40 rules.

                                          1. Well I tested just doing the SZ147 attack through SZ129 (no other attacks) and it lets me retreat back to SZ129 which has the UK sub in it: 0_1526506053153_test_retreat_to_SZ_with_enemy_sub.tsvg. Not sure if that is valid behavior or if its a bug.

                                          2. Then I tested also attacking the sub in SZ129 but doing the SZ147 battle first and it also let's me retreat to SZ129: 0_1526506310533_test_retreat_to_SZ_with_enemy_sub_2.tsvg

                                          3. Then I tested the same but doing SZ129 battle before SZ147 and it doesn't let me retreat then... I'm guessing it then thinks SZ129 is hostile since there is a battle there. Logically it doesn't seem to make much sense though as the order of the battles shouldn't matter for retreat locations.

                                          The only thing I could find in the Global 40 rules is this statement:
                                          "Move all attacking land and sea units in that combat that are on the battle strip to a single adjacent friendly space from which at least 1 of the attacking land or sea units moved. In the case of sea units, that space must have been friendly at the start of the turn."

                                          Though its not clear if subs would make a SZ "not friendly". And doesn't seem to say anything about battles affecting it.

                                          @Hepps @Panther Any thoughts? Have you ever seen that before?

                                          EDIT: Actually Global 40 rules do clarify what a friendly SZ is:
                                          "Sea zones are either friendly or hostile. Friendly sea zones contain no surface warships (this doesn’t include submarines and transports) belonging to a power with which you are at war. Hostile sea zones contain surface warships belonging to a power with which you are at war. (The presence of a surface warship belonging to an enemy power with which you are not yet at war doesn’t make a sea zone hostile.)"

                                          So that would seem to indicate that it is legal to retreat to the SZ that has only enemy subs in it at the beginning of the turn regardless of whether there is a battle there. So I think the bug is that the engine doesn't allow you to retreat in the 3rd scenario above.
