I thought about Finland - it's not a very big deal. You can't produce there for two rounds, when you retake and rebuild it. So essentially I killed 2 units (while capturing) + 4-5 units (you miss on producing). Nice to have, but won't decide the big war. It releases pressure from Leningrad.

@gully Yeah, its not game ending essentially Germany loses a handful or so of units plus less infrastructure in Finland. Mostly was just surprised as I've never seen Russia attack Finland. Almost seems a bit too easy as realistically an amphibious invasion by Russia into Finland wouldn't ever have happened. Makes me wonder if putting an entrenchment in Finland to make it a bit tougher to invade would be a good idea so that Russia would really have to invest to invade it.

Nah, it's not hard to counter. Just land any plane or keep an AAgun there or something. Usually Germany has Transports in the Baltics to get Leningrad. Or Russia uses those marines somewhere else. The problem is if you don't notice

British Combatmove, scramble to Low-Countries is nonsense imo. I get a horrifying warning "your Transport in sz24 WILL DIE", but I tested it, if I don't attack subs I can use it normally in NCM.

@gully So I think you saw my TWW question on moving materials the same turn they are captured. Thoughts on how you'd like to handle that for this current game? I've already moved them the same turn during Japan's turn earlier in the game. I see 4 options:
- Play as the engine enforces so can only move when captured by a player on the major's own territory (Japan on Japan owned but not Germany on Finland owned, etc).
- Same as #1 but allow using edit for a nation's minors so Germany can move if it captures on Finland and UK can move if captured on Egypt, etc.
- Moving forward don't allow any movement of materials the same turn they are captured.
- Wait on Hepps to make an official ruling and move forward with that.

@Gully I actually posted the turn with editing to move the 2 materials. If we decide that we aren't going to allow moving them then just edit them back.

@redrum I'm okay with moving the material.
The easiest rule is, what the engine allows is okay. Code is law. Unless it's too strange behavior. But distinguishing between Minor and Majors is kinda strange, so the same rules should apply as if that was core Germany. And then you could move the material on capture.
I'm not sure if it even makes a difference. You will probably rebuild one of the buildings in East-Finland instead of Finland (but not both, E-Finland has only 2 capacity). You could do that the same way next turn - only difference is that your Trucks can do other things next turn. Without Leningrad or Baltic-Transports they can't do much anyway. Or it is something I don't see

Hmm. Almost maximum pressure to Stalingrad, not even sacrifice a few units to destroy the Vologda barracks. But you destroyed all rails to Leningrad. Hmmmmm.

@gully Yeah, probably not a huge deal in this case on moving them as I realized Finland didn't have any PUs yet to rebuild. Just something I hadn't ever run into and I'm good with allowing movement of materials same turn as capture for both major/minor.
Next couple of turns on the Eastern Front should be interesting. I considered Vologda but decided the cost of tanks/mechs was too high. The Russians will most likely have to make some tough decisions soon.

@redrum Probably not a bad addition. Finland proper has always felt lean. If a Northern strategy is pursued Finland always feels underwhelming from a defensive standpoint.

Scramble is possible to W-Karelia, Pskov, Tula, Caucasus. I edited the tech-die because I had already rolled that a few days ago and forgot to save. Had to make sure it still misses.
