Total World War Diplomacy?
-
First post on this forum - sorry if this is in the wrong place/inappropriate/etc. How does the diplomacy feature work on the TWW map? There doesn't seem to be a phase for it, is it supposed to be handled manually outside the game? Thanks!

@Hal-Lin there definitely is a politics phase it is second after tech and before combat.
-
@Hal-Lin it does need to be enabled though a lot of people like to play where you cant bid for or attack neutrals.

Thanks for replying! Is there any sort of setting I need to turn on? For me it goes directly from the tech phase to the combat move phase...

@Hal-Lin "Use Politics".
I actually think the rulebook is not very clear (or even consistent) here. Maybe I'm overlooking something, but beside the "Politics must still be enabled" mention on the "War vs. Neutral Only" options, I cannot see any hints about the fact that "diplomacy" is off as default ("Use Politics" is false). Also, "Use Politics" is actually given as default true at that same page (appendix 2).
To me, the rulebooks seems to imply that Politics (comprising the bribing) is available as default and you are rather supposed to use the "War vs. Neutral Only" to curb it down (also, to me that reads like you can fight only the neutrals, but of course it is obvious it cannot mean that).
Again, maybe I'm overlooking something. I've read the TWW manual only so many times.

Thanks for the explanation! It might just be something weird going on with my version then - I'll try re-downloading perhaps.

@Hal-Lin To be sure, what you need to do is click on "Map Options", then tick "Use Politics".

Oh, that fixed it! I feel dumb now haha
