Underlined units?
-
What does it mean when you have a unit with a black line under it on the map? I’ve seen this with land and air units in a sea context. Thanks for the help!
-
@mvk20 It simply means there are no actual spots left in the territory. The black line identifies that the unit is in the overflow for the territory.
-
@Hepps Do you mean overflow visually/graphically? Or something in the game mechanic (like no more space on a transport or aircraft carrier)?
-
@mvk20 Purely a graphical representation.
-
@Hepps Does the underline mean the unit is loaded onto a transport or an aircraft carrier? Or can units in a land territory be underlined too, so it doesn’t do much to clarify any ambiguity?
-
@mvk20 No. The underline is purely used as a method of showing that there are more unit images in a territory then there are spots to place the images...
Example 1
Notice that Newfoundland looks normal when there are only 3 unit types (flag, Infantry and airfield)
Example 2
Now notice that when I add more unit types (mech. inf., tank and naval fighter) the black bar appears.
All this is telling you is that all the units are on Newfoundland. The lack of space for the unit images is simply a by-product of the fact that when the game was made there was only enough space (graphically) for 3 placements based on the map design.

@Hepps Thank you so much - that is super helpful! I like the little roundels under the units - how did you get those in there?
-
@mvk20 I drew them in.
-
@Hepps Cool - thanks again for all of the info. I really appreciate it!
