CmdData (Axis) defeats Straha (Allies) bid 9 by surrender after J26The bid was 1 inf Libya, 1 inf Ukraine, and 1 inf Belorussia.
The Allies kept Karelia stacked from round 3 until round 23 while Germany maintained an Eastern Europe stack as long as possible (had to vacate on G23). Germany bounced it's other smaller stack between SE and WE in order to free up the planes for trading the other territories of Ukraine, Balkans, and Belo.
Japan had a slow start but finally stacked Persia on J13 while also annoying Alaska & W. Canada from rounds 7 through 24. Japan finally had gathered enough force to move the Persia stack to Kazakh on J22 while still maintaining control of the Suez due to 12 transports.
The Allies opted to push the Russian stack into Ukraine on R23 to go for a double (or triple) tap on Berlin instead of doing a turtle in Moscow. Japan flew in as many fighters as it could into Berlin and captured Moscow and the rest of Asia and then stacked Caucasus and Egypt on J24. The remainder of Africa (minus Algeria and Libya) quickly became Japanese. The Allies could never a combination of attacks that would lead to a fall of Berlin and Japan stacked West Russia medium on J25 and more heavily on J26 with that stack looking to move to Belo on J27 or J28.
At the point of surrender, Berlin was defended by 157 inf, 4 art, 10 arm, 2 AA guns, 17 figs (12 of which were Japanese), and a Japanese bomber. The Axis had 442 units to the Allied 412 units. TUV was 1889 Axis to 1819 Allies. PUs on hand was 88 Axis and 74 Allies (Karelia and Norway were still Russian red). Russia had 138 units for 513 TUV. Germany 180 units for 617 TUV. British 149 units for 611 TUV. Japan 262 units for 1272 TUV. US 125 units for 695 TUV.
A thoroughly amazing game Straha and I think we both had a lot of fun! I felt behind for much of this game.
GG and well played.

Straha (allies) defeats Tulkas (axis) bid 9 by surrender in round 11. The bid was used for 3 inf in Europe (WR, Ukr, & Bel).R had less than average dice turn 1, which set the stage for the first big event of the game. To maintain a WR stack, allies needed both UK fighters from London, but G moved the Baltic fleet to SZ7, except the transport. G landed 4 fighters in WE. Uk fleet landed in Norway and built an AC. To prevent G from merging the Baltic & Med fleets in SZ13, US landed in Alg anyway leaving a trans & DD in SZ12 for easy axis pickings, but did kill a G fighter. On turn 2, G merged in SZ13 anyway, but US had enough to kill all G ships, and got some luck in that battle. Without any ships left, G quickly lost most of their potential income from Afr, although they held SA until the end.
G maintained a stack in WE on turn 3, which allowed UK to land strong in Kar, and stack it with help from R, and allies managed to maintain that stack all game.
J had a decent start, except that the UK trans in NG defeated a fighter, and was able to help retake India turn 2, which set J back a little, delaying the India factory purchase. But with the allied Kar stack, R was able to focus a lot against J, causing many little delays which quickly added up. Also, with almost no G presense in Afr, US was able to advance quickly and keep J from getting a real foothold in Afr. J did put forth considerable effort to protect the remaining G territories in Afr, boosting G's income a little, but the cost of doing so quickly added up. This allowed R to continue strong against J, and maintain big enough stacks in Cauc & Kaz to keep J from stacking Per.
J was pushing R back for a while in all of Asia, but had a split force, having built a factory in Manch. The split force meant they could never focus everything in one place against R. Once US was able to establish a fleet presence in the Med and trade Balk & Ukr most turns against G, R was able to focus 100% against J, stacking Kaz, and eventually also stacking Nov, mostly with tanks, so as to maintain the potential hit on Per. All the little allied advantages led to a slow, but steady growth in TUV advantage which axis could not overcome.
The death blow was when G tried to leave a slight understack in EE, to entice UK into a bad attack, but a miscalculation left UK too strong, while G was reduced to stacks in Germany and Italy, at which point Tulkas surrendered.
Thanks to Tulkas for a great game!
Straha

CmdData (Axis) defeats epinkion (Allies) bid 9 by surrender in round 12The first two rounds saw the dice swing heavily toward the Axis. Median results on R1, nothing lost in SZ 13 on G1, only a single inf lost in Egy on G1, 2 figs lost in SZ 7 wiping out the German navy on UK1, dest lost to tran in SZ 59 and trannie lived, only a single inf lost attacking China on J1, nothing lost in SZ 52 on J1. Inf + bmb vs inf in India on UK2 saw the British lose an inf and the bomber having to retreat with the Jap inf still surviving.
About the only battles which went well for the Allies in the first two rounds were the drops to Karelia on UK1 and UK2 along with the median results on R1. From there, it was nearly impossible for the Allies to come back though I opened the door slightly with a couple mistakes on J4 and J5.
Axis kept Egypt and WE stacked and had Germany controlling the majority of Africa for much of the game. Allies started getting desperate in round 8 with bombing against AA guns. The first 3 bombing runs say only a meager 7 IPCs inflicted upon Germany. The 4th bombing raid on US12 was a hit for the AA gun and the loss of the US bomber tipped Epi to surrender sooner than otherwise perhaps. Japan had just done an annoyance drop into Alaska and had increased its income to 50.
With the Axis on top following J12 in Total Unit Value (+15), Total Units (+24), and cash on hand (+13) and large inf stacks, it was going to be a slow onward economic death for the Axis that easily could have pushed to around round 40.
Things did look bad briefly for the Axis in round 8 when the US had first pushed into SZ 13 on US7 and Russia stacked Ukraine on R8. Germany had just enough to keep Russia from advancing and I guess there was too much opportunity cost in maintaining a stack in Ukraine as the Allies backed off the next round. A key battle happened on J8 in Sinkiang when Japan attacked with 2 inf, 1 arm, 2 figs vs 2 inf, 1 arm (all Russia) and a British AA gun. Japan lost a fig to AA fire but captured with 1 inf, 1 arm, 1 fig surviving. Russia. Russia could have then opted for some costly trading of Sinkiang, but opted not to do so and the Japanese stole away a prize AA gun.
Thanks for surrendering Epi and sorry about the early dice not making it a more competitive game in the mid to late rounds.
GG and well played.

bayder (Allies) defeats hammond (Axis, bid 9) by surrender in round 6, first turn played pbem with the remainder played onlineRound one played out fairly normally as both sides made standard moves with standard combat results. In round two, Germany sent a naked transport to attack the Allied stack in Alg, along with all 6 air units and Afrikan ground units. The Allied stack was destroyed, but it cost Germany their bomber and a fighter. With the Luftwaffe in France, Germany was able to hold the western coast, but it allowed a combined UK and Russia to stack Kar. In Asia, Japan went with 2 early IC's, then added a 3rd, and were able to stack Per early with tanks. But, Russia pulled back, forcing Japan to retreat from Per. Allies then stack Per, and Japan made an expensive attack on it, costing them all of their air power.
The coup de grace was a combined USA naval and air attack on Japan's fleet in sz34 after the Suez had been opened and held. Thanks to hammond for another fun, fast-paced game!

bayder (Allies) defeats Blasherke (Axis, bid 9) by surrender in round 8.Axis placed in Africa, but early bad results in Egypt all but eliminated their advantage there. Allies were quick to seal Africa and Karelia, while Germany was able to stack WEur for a short time. Japan mopped up islands, but was slow to get established in Asia. After two costly, but effective, double-taps on German inf/ftr stacks, Germany was just too depleted to defend Europe. With UK and USA closing in on Berlin, the Axis generals graciously surrendered.
Thanks to Blasherke for a fast and fun game!

Straha (allies) defeats msoot (Axis) bid 8, default rules, by surrender in round 12.Axis placed 1 inf in Belo, tank in Libya. Early on, G remained strong on the ground in Europe, but UK was able to kill the G med fleet in turn 2, which severely limited G income by cutting off afr. Nonetheless, it took until US6 to kill the final G units in Afr. Without Afr, axis was at a disadvantage from the start, which allowed UK to get a foothold in Europe. And US managed to win a couple costly captures of SE, which reduced G in size, making it harder to keep UK at bay. This in turn allowed R to focus strongly on J, keeping them from advancing for longer than usual. The income difference was just too much, and allies were able to slowly build up significantly more troops than axis.
Tkanks msoot, for a fun and friendly game. Hope to meet you on the battlefield again.

CmdData (Allies) defeats mogulrunnin (Axis) Bid 9, low luck via surrender in round 25.Axis bid was used to buy a transport in SZ 14 and the spare IPC was given to Japan.
The Allies squeezed the Axis income early by stacking Karelia in round 7 and then stacking Belo. Following a retreat from Egypt, an Axis advance to Kazakh on J11 allowed the Axis to stack Caucasus in round 12.
The US advanced to Persia on US18 which later setup the defining battle.
Notable battles were:
- US13 when 16 tanks, 2 figs, and 1 bmb attacked 13 inf, 3 tanks, 2 figs + AA gun. The US dislodged Japan recapturing India for the British but with only one tank, one fig, and the bmb surviving which was a bottom 8.1% result for the Allies.
- R19 when 11 tanks, 2 figs attacked 12 Japanese tanks in Ukraine.
- J20 when 34 inf, 9 art, 62 tanks, 3 figs, and 1 bmb attacked 89 inf, 1 art, 15 tanks, 6 figs, and 1 bmb + AA gun. 4 inf and 4 tanks came via transport, so Japan could not retreat. Japan had only 2 tanks, 2 figs, and a bmb surviving which was a bottom 5.6% result for the Axis. After that poor result, the Japanese were spent and Germany's threat on Moscow was not enough without support from Japan leading to the Axis surrender a few rounds later.
GG mogulrunnin!

hammond (Allies) defeats Gonz (Axis) Bid 9 in 20 Rd.I thought the game had a good allies start in that Germany wasn't really able to march deeper towards Russia. The European front then settled into a waiting game fighting small battles over the same territories as the Japanese storm approached Moscow. When Japan made its move on the land and sea, the allies were just able to fight it off and still hold one side of the Suez canal. After the big Caucus battle and realizing that Germany was probably never going to fall, the allies chased Japan back across Asia in a type of KJF, but unable to knock out the Imperial Japanese Navy. Gonz' good strategies kept the Navy safe and strong. With Asia pretty much in control of the allies, Japan threw a hail mary last gasp effort that could have nearly taken out WUSA. It was a good game and Axis fought well. Gonz is a pleasure to game with and a good sportsman. GG Gonz.

Gonz (allies) defeats Master_Blaster (axis, bid in round 14.Axis used the bid to buy german sub for sz 8. Russia went for Norway to counter this. The allies went for Germany with UK, US and Russia and was able to stack Karelia in round 6. The Karelia stack combined with MED control gave the allies a small but steady economic upperhand. Japan was building and soon became the worlds greatest nation. But Japan had many things to do - and was not really getting close enough to take out Moscow.
Thanks for a very fun and friendly game.
Best Gonz

hammond (allies) def. Deltium (axis)bid 8 in rd 16.Allies caught some good dice in rd 1, but then things settled down and axis started growing its forces into huge stacks on Germany, Persia, and at times Kaz. This really made allies throw its forces into mad suicide charges usually ending up with destruction of allied air forces and tanks to keep Japan from settling in on Caucas and Kaz. But by rd 16, positioning started favoring the allies and the axis made an honorable surrender. GG Deltium! well played
Deltium is a class act player, courteous and very enjoyable to game with. cya next time I hope!

Tulkas (allies) over Cgkdesign (axis) by resignation in round 9. Bid was 8 with a tranny in SZ14. Allies had a slight edge after Round 1 dice rolls and were able to "lean" on axis for every round after that eventually building up too much of an advantage for axis to overcome. bayder (Allies) defeats Sylvest888 (Axis +9) by surrender in USA5, played onlineAxis placed in Africa and gave Japan 1 IPC to spend. Russia had a rough first turn, and Germany won some gambles on theirs, so Allies were quickly behind. However, UK had a very successful start, and Japan's was extremely rough. So, while Germany was able to grow quickly, stacking both Kar and Ukr at one point, Japan was in trouble as USA went Pacific. UK planes and ships (and even both Russian ftrs) lent their offense to take out Japanese air and naval units. After USA4, Japan was left with no ships and a USA IC in Borneo.
Thanks Sylvest888 for a quick but intense game!
