about bans
-
these "rules" are not official(YET), but i wanted all tripleA players to see my idea and get feed back, both from players and Mods.
Steps Mods should follow for players that "break the rules of tripleA", ("major trolls" that are mainly not tripleA players that type vile or vulgar stuff in the lobby should be instantly banned, first a day ban then a week ban, then a perma-ban if they are just hard core trolls.)
1: slap and verbal warning, i suggest Mods paste this into a desktop folder for easy access,,, "BE AWARE THERE ARE LOBBY RULES, YOU ARE GETTING CLOSE TO BREAKING THEM, THIS IS A WARNING." (as a side note here, if they keep "trolling" while you are trying to get them to stop, insta-disconnect them since the mute option is not working at this point)
2: if they keep "breaking the rules" after the "official warning" was issued slap them and tell them they are getting a 15 minute ban to compose themselves, at this point give the player that 15 minute ban.
3: if they come back and again "break the rules" slap them and tell them they will now receive a day ban for violating tripleA rules. apply a day ban at this point.
4: when they come back after their day ban, if they "break the rules" again, slap them or disconnect them to get their attention and tell them that they are banned until they register in the forums and have a chat using our instant messaging option or posts. if they do not respond keep slapping and disconnecting the player till they respond and agree to go to the forums and talk with a Mod. at this point apply a seven day ban and disconnect the player till a Mod talks to them in the forums.
in the forums tell the player they will now be given a seven day long ban for "breaking the rules" several times, and more importantly, since they were already given a 15 minute ban and a day ban, and are now receiving a seven day long ban that the next time they "break the rules" they will be given another seven day long band or in extreme cases perma-banned from tripleaA. (if they come back to the lobby after their seven day long ban "before" they ever talked to a Mod in the forums they will be given an insta-ban of another seven day, this will continue till they talk to a Mod in the forums, plain and simple.)
5: at this point any player continuing to "break the rules" after a verbal warning, a 15 minute long ban, a day long ban and one or two seven day long bans will officially become a "hard core troll" and perma-banned from tripleA.

@silverbullet anytime a Mod gives a ban to a player they must write a post in the bunker. this helps other Mods see who has been banned in the past and also explains the reason for the ban being given.
-
@silverbullet if a player can not get into the forums, an empty bot should suffice.
-
@silverbullet i like the general idea of this i only have 2 concerns at one point we were talking about getting rid of the slap. also, you have a step here that says "apply a seven-day ban and disconnect the player till a Mod talks to them in the forums" just curious like seems like you have 2 possibly conflicting actions here also is the purpose of having them post to the forum or empty bot simply to avoid having the conversation in the lobby?
-
@ubernaut it could be cleaned up i agree,,, but what that means is when a Mod gives a player a 7 day long ban they need to talk to a Mod so the Mod can tell them they just received a 7 day ban are in risk of another seven day long ban or in extreme cases a perma-ban. we should not allow a player who received a seven day long ban access to the lobby before they talk to a Mod and are informed of the next step.
if that doesnt answer your question, write back to me
-
@silverbullet was assuming it was both things just saying its a bit confusing
-
@silverbullet also, feel free to spiff it up, word it better, make it look presentable, make it official, whatever you Admins think will work. i just want 100% of the players and Mods to see a stable policy.
-
@silverbullet PS, so no "mute" and no "slap" how are we gonna grab the attention of "rule breaks", go straight to "disconnect" if they dont respond to us in the lobby?
also players like this option to get games going.
-
@silverbullet yeah i'm not entirely sure what the logic behind getting rid of them was but i think the issue was slap abuse i've had continuously slap me for no good reason i dont think the discussion ever came to any resolution
-
@ubernaut over slapping is a form of spam and should earn a slap followed by the warning "
"BE AWARE THERE ARE LOBBY RULES, YOU ARE GETTING CLOSE TO BREAKING THEM, THIS IS A WARNING."if they continue as per protocol they should be disconnected from the lobby, if they return and continue to "break the rules" they earn a 15 minute ban, and then a day ban etc as per above.
regular players can use the "ignore" option, but Mods can not, as we must be able to see everything said in the lobby.
one or two slaps is enough for serious players.
-
@silverbullet when it happened to me i don't think i was able to mute them also wasn't a mod at that time idk does everyone see the slap for some reason i just thought it was whoever was getting slapped
-
@ubernaut the "mute" option is broken and we are not to use it as it tends to mute several people at once.
-
@ubernaut everyone can see the slaps
-
@silverbullet gotcha
-
@silverbullet also, everyone can see the Mods actions, like "the player was disconnected by a Mod"
