help! I've installed 2.7 and boxes and now have no access to other games in any version

You are probably missing the map.yml that is required for 2.6 & 2.7 to work with each map you have downloaded.
If so, then the best way to overcome this to redownload them again with 2.7
If this is not possible then delete the maps that dont work and redownload them again with 2.7

Yes I'd go with Dog's suggestion. I'm on linux, so i don't want to confuse the situation further but it looks as if your shot with the downloadedMaps has -master at the end.
That needs to be renamed and removed. You will notice boxes doesn't have it.
I believe Dog is correct though, that you can delete and re download. Either way should work though.
