Installing for the first time

I used TripleA years ago and am just coming back. I have a fresh install on a fresh machine but get a bug right away that makes the game unplayable. Going through the GitHub bug report it is listed as a closed issue.

Any ideas for how to get going?

Try and download the latest 2.6 version, its close to being released.

Install in a different directory, does the same error happen?
