so fire up triplea and hit "Play By Email"
We'll use PBEM in this example as that is how I do it, although it and PBF are interchangeable.

Enter your email and your opponents in the appropriate fields.

You also need to register for the Marti Dice roller. Hit Register to ... well register You only need to do this once, not every time you play.

Idk if a game name is necessary or not, I always use one just because but I think it is for PBF for the topic id. That's a pbf thing so we won't concern ourselves with it right now.

then start game and do your turn. You will notice it says "Dice Server On" bottom right. That means you're on and not in Local mode, which is an easy mistake to make, as you will want to do your test turn in Local before going for real.
Or most people do

When you're done with your turn hit "View Turn Summary"

ctrla ctrlc on the summary window and then save game. I usually go with the game and whoevers turn it was for the save name.
So EXP Game 1 Cat G 1 for example of Germanys first turn.

Paste the Turn Summary you copied and add the save to the game thread and you're good to go.

PBF eliminates some of the above steps and you can switch to PBF from PBEM at any time.

Hi cat

I looked at your save. One thing to remember, is that only certain units can be placed during the 1st place phase. The rest you place as would in oob in the 2nd place.

WaffenPioneer should be on the list, as well as the LendLease markers.

Also starting with triplea+15028 the battle calc doesn't work. It is fixed in 15032. I am on 14962 fwiw

that I can click to at anytime for clarification. Actually I have two with one on table of contents, the other to scroll to where I want to go.

I was a little overly optimistic and this gonna take me a day or two, most likely two, before I get updated. We can get rockin then though

For now, I'd DL latest triplea and latest map, even though that'll get updated, and read up on the rules again. Read the Game Notes that explains how triplea does it.

You can also look at some past games with Panzer, Trout and our multi with crockett if you want. Scroll through History give ya a bit of a feel for it.

Realistically, probably couple days before update ready. Never know though, when I do them, I get obsessive and just try and crank it out until it's done

@beelee Hey B - So what is the status on this game ? I have been wanting to play this for months. I tried to understand it by playing myself like any other tripleA game but I just could not figure it out. It looks awesome tho...

Please advise on what to do and if we could maybe arrange a time to play?

Yea I got stuck on the update. If I can't get the last part done tonight, I will update as is.

So probably tomorrow sometime or early am

I'll walk you through it. It's more complex than a regular Global game and requires a lot of edit but after a few games it becomes second nature

The update can be downloaded now. Note that it may go to 100% when downloading and then back to 0% several times before it finishes.

I'm using triplea version 2.7+14962 but that or the latest prerelease is fine.

Let me know when you have latest and i'll get us rolling. Fwiw, I'm usually on in the evenings to early am. I'm 2 hours ahead of you.
