      There is the issue that the version @Hepps posted is clearly displaying a canal in the Bosphorous, and I'm against both that or having the visual inconsistent with game data.

        Hmm, didn't notice the canal in his pic.

        The version I have looks like so.

        I think your version was the best version from a multi player standpoint. It even had some 1v1 action when peeps wanted to prove themselves.

        Anyways, ask him if you can tweak the map skin to no canals look.

          @general_zod Not a fan of surging. That would need the sea zone pattern being fully redone, without that canal display.
          Not a fan of asking, either. I would use it, totally or partially, if it is made officially freely usable, like by uploading it to GitHub, or by other ways of declaring it publicly free to use.

            @cernel Hepps already told us we could use it. Yes it was your 40% that got played. The things left to fix were the support abilities for some of the units. Like chariots and axemen etc.

              What I'm saying is that it I would use it if everyone can use it (with no need of asking), and I don't believe @Hepps publicly released it, if I'm not overlooking.

              If you mean that in "Cernel Variant" Chariots cannot support and axeman cannot receive support, that is intended (original 270BC they can, and I removed it on purpose).

                @prastle If @Hepps upload in GitHub or upload in here telling that it is free to use, then sure: I will see what I want to import over to the variants of whatever. Not demanding it.

If the experienced players who have a copy get back to me... I will be more than happy to make the necessary changes and up-load it to Git Hub. But I will not be party to releasing yet another broken map.

                        Taking screenshots from the first two links above and merging them:

                        Assuming your list of changes is exhaustive, I think that the graphic in the Bosporus needs to be redone. What I believe most will think, by looking at it, is that is a canal, meaning:

                        • it appears telling that Byzantium and Nicaea are connected, since they share a border (I assume they are not)
                        • it appears telling that you need to own Byzantium and Nicaea to go to and from 70 and 71 (I assume you do not) (the only alternative interpretation of the graphic would be that 70 and 71 are not connected, but I think people will exclude that, for basic realism and since the relief hints at something special)

                        Side note, I would not go the other way (of making the game consistent with the graphic, by adding a canal there), for geographical consistency between the Bosporus and the Dardanelles (I know this game is not realistic, but...).

                          An alternative solution I would be favourable with (so would import in the variants too), that would allow not surging or remaking the current new graphic, is to have:

                          • Nicaea and Byzantium land connected
                          • Pergamum and Byzantium land connected
                          • no canals

                          (I also believe this would be realistic)

                          That way, the current graphic could be re-elaborated as meaning there is a connection between Byzantium and Nicaea, but no canal.
                          The only thing that would need to be added, in this case, is something like a simple double headed arrow land connecting Pergamum and Byzantium (that would be better added as a decoration, so that it displays also when you take details off, and doesn't impact on the relief, in case of any future rework).
                          Plus simply a few lines in notes to explain the above (so that players don't need to test it and wonder if how it works is correct).

                          Just throwing ideas on how to address the matter, if anybody else but me actually see it as an issue (I know that is rather marginal, but...).

                              @prastle So maybe I have not been clear. My above post, with suggestions of actual gameplay changes, are not really changes that I want to get made for the game itself, but, as I said, just alternative ideas, if it is preferred keeping the current graphic, relatively to what I said at my other post before.
                              Feel free to ignore my previous post, and refer only to the one before (that is why I made them as two different posts).

                                    Actually, I now see I can download it without any account, as @RogerCooper said.

                                    A thing I wonder is if the name (both the game and the folder?) is supposed to change to "CCLXX BC" or is that just a temporary thing to avoid confusion with current, but it will be changed back to "270 BC" when updating? I assumed that was just a temporary change, but I see it's "CCLXX BC" in the decoration.

                                      So there doesn't appear to be an appetite to rebalance this map based on the territory differences between RTW and 270BC. So I've taken the improved unit images and dice images and merged them into standard 270BC: https://github.com/triplea-maps/270bc/pull/4

                                      I will also be reviewing the changes in 270BC variants to see if any balances adjustments should be added from those.
