Donation Drive 2024
-
@prastle just messaged me and stated we have $120 total.
The servers are about $105/month
We can therefore pay just one more month, meaning come Feb 29 we are out of money.
The lobby bare-minimum costs $15/month, the forum is $15/month, the bots and a few backup services are $70/month.

@prastle said in Donation Drive 2024:
I would like to again request that any donations include a note with your user name
hi all, couldn't include user name in the paypal platform. donated $200. thaks for all your work
-
maybe give the job to someone who does give a shit? less then 2 months to raise 1400 ugh
sounds like we are paying way too much on bots where people with little help can host for themselves
wel it was a good ride

-
Ah ... just saw first post. I will go let the league guys know now
-
Just donated. Any reason we shouldnt consider a small monthly fee to play? Some may find this unpopular, but I think the juice is worth the squeeze
-
@adamf awesome !
Yea you can currently set it up to donate every month. Like 5 bucks is a 60 yearly spot, yea the math isn't a revelation but
I don't like anything that forces me to do something to play personally.
The all Volunteer Force is better than conscription imo
-
@beelee Not untrue, but also "many hands make light work". A small fee for all shares the burden.
-
@adamf also true, but as this is a small community, the fewer the hurdles to participate, the better imo.
-
make big donators mods
as it is now u can donate 200 dollars and get banned the next day because some mod is in a bad mood.
also they are invested in the game thus a protentional good mod to keep the lobby clean and full
-
I tried to donate. When I clicked create account and donate... it did nothing
-
@beelee Right now the biggest hurdle seems to be too many want to play, but not enough want to pay. A small community paying will help ensure survival of the community. Perhaps we can do a "suggested monthly donation of X" with people having to opt out if they dont wish to donate.
-
I have had several people willing to donate to me to create a website for the Revised Player Chart that I have created, and I am asking them all to redirect to TripleA. Upon my brief research when planning the site, I am very concerned with the current costs mentioned for hosting. I don't know who is in charge of this or how long contracts are but I would highly suggest looking into alternate providers. Also, I personally run 3 bots on my linux server at home. I can help anyone setup regular bots for the lobby if they have a decent enough system and stable internet. The community should be able to handle the bots IMO, saving a large expense.

@airwalker I am fine with anyone trying a new ladder... The old version i paid myself out of pocket three years ago and runs on go daddy. I am sure cheaper alts are available if others want to maintain it
-
sadly I no longer have time for triplea other than what I do. Simply put the ladder cost 300 for three years and calculated itself through a prog i purchased myself. I then built the website myself etc to try and replace the old one. I never expected 0 support other than revised.
-
So with all that being said ... I would be happy if anyone took over the ladder and paid for it themselves
-
@prastle Hi prastle, I'm more concerned with the monthly expenses as a whole. I am totally unwilling to accept donations for a website ladder while the game itself is at risk of being buried. If costs could be reduced to a more manageable monthly level, I would be much less concerned.
-
costs here are very manageable.
-
@airwalker the simple truth is our
users apparently cant afford 2000 a year divided by whatever? lol -
@prastle This statement upon logging into lobby : DONATIONS CRITICAL! WE ARE OUT OF MONEY ON FEB 29 does not inspire confidence in said respect.
