Tournament of Champions (Season 4) for AA 50 Anniversary '41 version
-
@general_zod You really need to have that option set to False, otherwise if you are in a battle, and the battle is not proceeding, then you can't chat at all, or you risk to confirm the autoselection. Never chatting while a battle is going on or might start is not much of an option, since it is not rare that people surrender in the middle of a battle, and you cannot just stay silent, but, if you chat, then you are at risk of confirming what you don't want to.
-
@cernel i have actually had it still occur on occasion as false cer but it is a lot more of a rare thing.

Well, how about a quick game update to distract us from the newly anointed "Tokyo incident".
Wasp(axis) vs Deltium(allies)
Allies believe American high command when they tell of how the war can be won, submarines boys! We shall drive the Japanese from the pacific and force her to her knees! At least...was the hope. More and more American subs steadily force a determined Jap defense to bend and bend. Meanwhile...in europe the axis bide their time with parties and tales of victory on the eastern front. Italian Blackshirts then advanced the tip of the spear! Fast moving columns catch old Stalin by surprise and force the Red army back into defensive positions around Moscow. Unable to break the german/italian siege of the russian heartland, the british attempt to relieve pressure by attrition. Ultimately, moscow falls and the american hope to contain or destroy japan has failed. Let the story of Germania begin. History will now be told by the Reich! -
Hi all, @Deltium @prastle @general_zod @cernel about the "Tokyo incident" I found this interesting and clear rule:
AA50 1941/1942 Ladder Rules
Last Update: July 06, 2010Lobby Ladder Games
Combat Move and Non-Combat Move
The ladder is about competitive games. It is the responsibility of players to review the board before they press Done on each combat phase. By accepting a live ladder game, you are denying yourself the move-practicing opportunities in a PBEM game. Major strategical errors should generally be allowed to edit. An example would be protecting a capital by 1 infantry that blocks a tank column (1). Remember it is your responsibility to review the board, not your opponents responsibility to allow you an edit, do NOT expect minor edits to be allowed. Players MUST decide what level of editing they will allow before the game begins.(1) Furthermore, this concept runs into Japan's favor before the attack, but was out as NOT EDITION AT ALL.
Good games to all

@Empiricist (Axis) defeats redrum (Allies). GG. Started off alright but my lack of direction and not attaining NOs slowly let the Axis powers beat down Russia. Save: 0_1521590546858_triplea_Jap8.tsvg

@redrum thanks GG indeed very enjoyable

- As my answer was twice banned I rewrote it deleting some issues making it fairer about the subject.
This is my view, answer and disagreement about your determination:
Delitium wrote in ToC12: “have fun and enjoy this!! This is an opportunity to not only play highly skilled players, but to interact with A&A players around the world, and experience different strategies and tactics. It is a great opportunity to raise your game and have a lot of fun at the same time.” And I completely agree that first of all is that we game to enjoy and pleasure making friends as well.
But the determination key judgement was mixing PBEM games with its OOL rules that are very much different than an online games where those rules don’t applied at all, there are not OOL rules in a live games but moves, acts and decisions to be make on the way. We are gaming as an expert players not as a noob players, so the quote: “First and foremost, this is a very unfortunate incident for both of you, and probably NOT something that will ever happen again in your remaining A&A games in your entire life! As such”. Sorry, but it’s an everyday game issue for an expert and even for a normal assiduous player with daily gaming matters and especially in a NOT edit Game. Furthermore, we are in a ToC game and not just in a daily game. When a similar situation had happen to me I accepted it as a human mistake and also accepted random dice causalities when aren´t in my favor, but about this issue I noticed and have some doubts that rose as weren’t clear to me after your determination. Even your conclusion, this game hasn’t finished and wins yet.
G_Z won his first game by arbitration and a gamer needs to win, as Delitium quote in the above paragraph, and try not to be helped by arbitration related to human mistakes (Expert players try not to commit those) it’s needed and have to win, our game show by itself and stand in a Non-Combat Move after a battle was won but territory not taken, By a mistake? It’s the game! And now he got a second winning by arbitration, is he gone to win by arbitration? It’s the second and almost sure couldn’t be the last.
Reviewing the chat (Anyhow, chat should be continued but weren’t, why don’t continue with the chat?), at the end say:
(6:35:06 AM) General_Zod: 100%
(6:35:09 AM) General_Zod: gg
(6:37:00 AM) Raville: no
(6:37:03 AM) General_Zod: i click too fast
“I click too fast” is a mistake and those error make games to be lost (as I wrote, not OOL rules apply here because it’s not a PBEM game) and a mistake has to be paid, it’s the game! We have this situation when taking a capitol city in all games, it’s not a new feature or a game interface quirk, as G_Z wrote. Thanks for the invitation to participate in ToCs, wishing good games and good luck to all participants and particularly to Delitium and Prastle for your great job implementing these tournaments.
Remains to you all, cheers
Raville

LeeMorrision (axis) defeats Empiricist (allies) - 19 rounds of unit attrition eventually allowed Japan to swamp Russia. File attached 0_1522437162929_triplea_Bri19.tsvg
-
Wasp (axis) defeats LeeMorrison (allies) - An early british offensive in libya opend the door for rapid japanese expansion into africa. The axis struck fast and hard throwing the allies onto their heels. Unable to push the germans back and losing ground in asia and the pacific. The allies sue for peace.
-
Empiricist (axis) defeats tulkas (allies) - axis got off to a decent start and allies couldn't quite squeeze the soft underbelly of Europe hard enough before Russia collapsed
-
Stroid (axis) defeats quartermaster (allies, 15 bid)
Was an interesting game. UK played hard north leaving france easily defended by germans. Russia defended well against teh axis push. But USA couldn't decide to go atlantic or pacific. After switching back and forth, the axis were just too large to deal with. GG WP
-
Prastle Allies @ 14 defeats @Mogwai Axis Round 9. With the loss of Rome and the allies overrunning Europe Stalin, Churchill and the USA air command were able to strafe Persia ending Japan's final hopes to crush Moscow. Good Game Bro! Enjoyed!
-
Stroid (axis) defeats Empiricist (allies, bid 15)
A great game. Both sides played well. Allies played an excellent russia holding the hordes back for a long time. But UK and USA where not super helpful in damaging Hitler. Germany was able to remain strong while Japan pushed through India up into the Caccaus. In the end, Allies decided to avoid further bloodshed and call it a day. GG WP!

Hi - just a gentle reminder to post your results and the last game file here. It is OK to write to me as well, but I would prefer to keep everything here in the main forum page.
Thanks, Deltium

For those wondering who will be the next one to be steamrolled by General Zod...it will be me
Icelander (Allies,13 bid) defeats A432. Everyone against Japan while the RAF prevents the Germans from entering Moscow. -
