Can't connect to TripleA servers because I'm in China. How can I load downloaded maps from the game folder?
-
I get this error message when I boot up TripleA: "No network connection?) Failed to get server properties java.net.UnknownHostException: raw.githubusercontent.com"
I tried some things to fix it, but no dice. It won't let me connect to the repository of maps to download.
So, I want to load a map directly from TripleA's folder that I downloaded from github and just play locally. How do?
Thanks! -
Hi, welcome to the forums.
I dont know the real answer to your problems, but if we can lets bypass the normal method...What map do you want to download?
I will download it and share it via google drive, hopefully that is shareable to you, how does that sound? -
@heping Assuming that you downloaded the Zip of the repository of the map which you want to play, in your user folder create a sub-folder called "triplea" (or maybe "TripleA", I'm not sure) and a sub-sub-folder called "downloadedMaps", and paste what you downloaded inside it.

Yeah would be great! G40 2nd Edition is what I'm interested in. Here's a screenshot of a newly created downloadedMaps folder in my tripleA folder, but the map I tried downloading is still not showing up in the game application.

@thedog Thanks, I'll let you know once I can figure out how I can load a map:)

@heping you need to rename by removing the "-master"

The typical path is
C:\Users\<username>
.You can search over the internet to learn what the user folder is.

Thanks for the help! I can load maps and play locally now. Hopefully the internet issue can be fixed and I can play online too sometime.

@heping you should be able to play by email or forum then I would think.
Not the same as a live game, but it would be against other people.
