Global 40 Expansion UHD Boxes
-
@beelee OK thanks for that intel...
Well the look of this game beats that of any WW2 style board game I have seen in decades !!!
So I am HUGELY excited to learn this game - last year I got involved in the 1941 Global Command Decision game and that was fine too. I'm not surprised to see the same names (Black Elk) involved here as was there.
But THIS GAME has me even more interested to learn - and I just got a new liquid cooled, super NVIDIA GPU PC so I will be able to skip over any Mac-realted issues right away now.
But as was the case with the 1941 Global Command Decision game, I see little in terms of USER MANUALs or EXAMPLES OF PLAY !!!
You Nerds and your just assuming that us normees are just gonna "figure it out" hahahaha
So as I attempted to do last year I'd be happy to help break this game and contribute to some sort of manual and/or more useful tooltips or WHATEVER CAN LOWER THE BARRIER TO ENTRY that currently is the rules of the game - at least in my humble opinion.
For example, this game makes a big deal out of giving "Airborne" to each country. But after hours of trying I have not been able to figure out how to use airborne units in any way.
And what is with the LOVELY, and I mean SUPER LOVELY, retro units from other games. I was getting flashbacks to my childhood playing Avalon Hill games such as Luftwaffe, and Panzer Blitz...
WOW Engineers !!! I recall seeing those very units but now forgot which game. So how do engineers work in this game?
When I open up the editor and see dozens of cool new units like super carriers or units that have the visual graphics of other games I played years ago, I am super anxious to learn more.
But, alas, as is the case with many of these games, I see no user manual or other tools I might use to learn.
Cheers mate; please let me know where to find out how to get rules to play this game,
-Johnny -
heh heh yea the Game Notes explain how it works with triplea pretty well. They are continously being updated. They are listed under the Help tab top left bar.
Here's the rules link again https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jI_1JdIC-1KiTihBICJAbtX3GpVYnNgf/view
Here's a clarification doc https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jI_1JdIC-1KiTihBICJAbtX3GpVYnNgf/view

Edit
Here's Engineers there not listed in the main rules manual https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/assets/uploads/files/1704049684134-g40-combat-engineer-unit.pdfAirborne units you will have to use Edit "Perform Move or Other Actions" usually.

@VictoryFirst @Panzerstahl-Helm-0
Oye
There is a small Island west of the Danish/W GER border that doesn't have an owner. Who should I give it to ?

-
-
Right arm I will give it to them in the next update.
-
Ok Denmark gets the little Island. I hope they and the reich don't fight over it lol.

Gonna do 2.41 update now hee hee
Edit
It's available on triplea now -
Working on the Elite Tanks. Wasn't sure what to do for an image. Thought about just making their barrels black and maybe I still will. For now I just went generic mode. We can always change it to something better.
There's only one each for SSR and USA. Reich gets 3 plus 1 waffen, so there won't be very many on the board.

yea Idk think I'll just go generic for now
Edit
Yea I'm gonna leave the blank space blank for now. Will use the Overflow Box to put extra ACs.
Pick which one you need and move to map instead of edit in and out.
Ok almost done here. Should be up after bit
Edit 2
Never seen the overflow box used but if one wanted to, you'd just dust the ACs and use it.Hmm ... don't think I'll force place the AC's. People can add them if they want.

Update to 2.44

-
Since the dice server down been working on the 1939 mod

lol
@Panzerstahl-Helm-0 I have 3 U-boats starting in 112. Maybe 2 would be better ? Surely the Kriegsmarine had some boats in the Atlantic before they attacked Poland.
Well not a big deal. They auto move to there Early 1940 positions so it doesn't affect the mod. I just thought it would look cooler if they started closer to home

heh heh It's actually kinda cool to watch them move.

Update to 2.46

-
Update to 2.5

When Downloading from triplea, it may say 100% complete and then revert to 0% several times before completing the upload.

Update to 2.51

Update to 2.52

@Panzerstahl-Helm-0 if you haven't started your game with Alexander or is still early, you should switch to this one.
What happened was, I wanted the Game Option to be turned on for the Air Trprt to be able to be selected during Total War. Actually, all the Total War Units but only had done A Trprt.
I did the opposite lol

Next Big update I will make all the Total War Units need to be turned on in Game Options ( they all are by default ) in order to buy them. Otherwise, if you turn off the option it'll still show up once Total War happens.
Just a heads up

Why are the Dutch, Mongolians, Neutrals etcetera, list as 'Human'? They should be 'DoesNothing' because there are no sequence/steps under gamePlay. Also, they should be hidden.
<player name="Dutch" optional="true" defaultType="DoesNothing" isHidden="true"/> <player name="Mongolians" optional="true" defaultType="DoesNothing" isHidden="true"/> <player name="Neutral_Axis" optional="true" defaultType="DoesNothing" isHidden="true"/> <player name="Neutral_Allies" optional="true" defaultType="DoesNothing" isHidden="true"/> <player name="Neutral_True" optional="true" defaultType="DoesNothing" isHidden="true"/>It would be nice to have "isHiddenPlayersTad" and "isHiddenTechTad". One can only hope.
Also, all their tech can be removed.
And what's up with "Changer"? Is that player still needed?Cheers...
-
heh heh Idk
I just used Veqryn's WWII Global 40 as the template.Changer is needed. He controls the Landmines. Has control of the TimeTable too I think and a couple other things. Can't remember

Oh yea, he triggers a buncha stuff. Could probably have the Germans do most of it.Idk if "Does Nothing" affects the Neutrals and Mongols from being able to use edit. The Mongols will actually trigger in some situations and the Neutrals as well I think.
-
There are no steps for these players. They cannot declare war, move, attack, purchase or collect income. All they can do is defend. Only casualties would be selected by AI, nothing else should change.
But to each their own.Cheers...

If it's not broke, don't fix it is my motto
