Yes, it belongs to Asia. I made the same mistake in the past as well.

Jordan & Syria and everything east of these
territories â all the way to Malaya and up to Soviet

@beelee So Italy is so beset by problems that it's going to be taken over BUT it can do military exercises and then go again under German control!? That is not a compelling narrative. I would think the lack of coherency would cause miscommunication, lack of unity, delays, etc that prevent effective military aggression. That is the play tester in me. Are there any analogs of that on the Allied side?

yes Takeover of Italy is a powerfull event in EXP. It's very hard to prepare for. Once you ride out the storm, it swings to the Allies favor with no more Italy imo.

yes Takeover of Italy is a powerfull event in EXP. It's very hard to prepare for. Once you ride out the storm, it swings to the Allies favor with no more Italy imo.
More realistic rules: Role dice for armies on the board. If 1, these units are attacked by the German units in the same territory. If any units remain, they are become allied and the territory becomes allied. If 2, and the units are in any territory that directly touches Italy, the units go awol and attempt to blend in with the civilian population or hide out in the mountains. If 3, 4, they are immobile for this turn, being unclear about their orders or the order of command. If 5, 6, they instantly are folded into the German ranks. Planes within flying distance to Allied territory and who roll a 1, 2, make a run for it. German air in the same territory will pursue and engage in battle. Italian ships in the Med without a German contingent, make a run for it to join the Allies.
I believe this better represents the reality and confusion of the war.

yea you'd have to ask The Captain about how they decided on the TakeOver rule.
I did something similar to what you propose with Oztea's 1939 for the Vichy. Was based mainly on Xeno Games WaW and the BM mod along with my own twist.
