I looked at your save. One thing to remember, is that only certain units can be placed during the 1st place phase. The rest you place as would in oob in the 2nd place.
WaffenPioneer should be on the list, as well as the LendLease markers.

I suggest you be Allies for your first game as Germany has the most special units and is the hardest to learn. I find it handy to have a window with the rulebook https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jI_1JdIC-1KiTihBICJAbtX3GpVYnNgf/view?pli=1
that I can click to at anytime for clarification. Actually I have two with one on table of contents, the other to scroll to where I want to go.The "Game Notes" are under the "Help Tab". It will explain in detail how EXP works in triplea.

I was a little overly optimistic and this gonna take me a day or two, most likely two, before I get updated. We can get rockin then though
For now, I'd DL latest triplea and latest map, even though that'll get updated, and read up on the rules again. Read the Game Notes that explains how triplea does it.
You can also look at some past games with Panzer, Trout and our multi with crockett if you want. Scroll through History give ya a bit of a feel for it.
Realistically, probably couple days before update ready. Never know though, when I do them, I get obsessive and just try and crank it out until it's done

@beelee Hey B - So what is the status on this game ? I have been wanting to play this for months. I tried to understand it by playing myself like any other tripleA game but I just could not figure it out. It looks awesome tho...
Please advise on what to do and if we could maybe arrange a time to play?

Yea I got stuck on the update. If I can't get the last part done tonight, I will update as is.
So probably tomorrow sometime or early am
I'll walk you through it. It's more complex than a regular Global game and requires a lot of edit but after a few games it becomes second nature

The update can be downloaded now. Note that it may go to 100% when downloading and then back to 0% several times before it finishes.
I'm using triplea version 2.7+14962 but that or the latest prerelease is fine.
Let me know when you have latest and i'll get us rolling. Fwiw, I'm usually on in the evenings to early am. I'm 2 hours ahead of you.

@johnnycat Johnny. Good luck in your first game! I am only active on this board as time permits so will be monitoring but not posting much. In my opinion, the learning curve is steep but Beelee is an excellent and patient teacher. If you get past the learning curve, G40 HRE is a blast to play and brilliantly conceived. Far superior to any of the other A&A games (which is saying something) if one is okay with the complexity of it along with the fact that it's a long game vs. all of the others. Which is no problem with TripleA in that you just post your turn whenever you have time and then go back to your normal life.
I think me and Beelee are the Americans active with TripleA HRE. The others are international I believe. Again good luck sir!

Maybe there is a manual?
I definitely see the potential so maybe I’ll be an additional American supporting this game.
It’s not a game that can be played against the computer though correct ???

@johnnycat It can be played against the computer AI. Not a good way to play for developing good strategy. But not a bad way to go for just learning the Triple A mechanics. The AI on TripleA is very simplistic so none of its moves will make alot of sense.

This a learning game and while we both want to win
the main thing is to get familiar with the rules and how triplea implements them.crockett on his first game and even though his partner bailed halfway through, he's giving me and Panzer all we can handle and then some

@beelee OK so I have the time finally - and now don't know what to do to download whatever files I require?
As I recall I would need to download the newest TripleA as well as some sort of dice rolling thing and something else.
Please advise and note that I have finally gotten a nice gaming PC using the Windows operating system so I would need to download files for BOTH Mac and PC

If you have the same email address you should already be registered but if not you can do that here https://dice.marti.triplea-game.org/
You will want to use a game email if you don't have one already. Some people have trouble with gmail and yahoo working with the dice server.
proton.mail and gmx.com both work

@johnnycat Sure. I would be up for that. Or we could do a 3-way with Beelee as he is the technical guru and I am not in case you have any issues the first time thru. I know I did. The advantage of playing me is I am not as good as Beelee so you would have a better chance of winning against just me
