New Player running into tutorial problem.
-
Greetings community, as a lifelong A&A player (have owned the game since the 80's) I was over the moon to stumble onto this adaptation (can't believe it took me so long to come across) and immediately downloaded it began the tutorial.
Things went well until I got to the part where I needed to invade France.
I've done everything obvious, I see them and their armies but whenever I try to attack I'm told "Germans may not move land units over lands controlled by neutral_nations".
I diligently looked for something like a political action button to have me declare war, but that doesn't seem to be an option either.
I'm excited to move along in the tutorial, but not sure why my attacks earlier in the tutorial (attacking Slovakia, Poland, Denmark and Norway) just went off without a hitch by me moving in and initiating combat.
Any help is appreciated. -
@icgamer Welcome to TripleA and this forum.
I never played a tutorial map. But as there are different rulesets for different games there are different rules for how to deal with neutral territories, too. Most likely the map you are playing does not allow to enter neutral territories at all and does not include political actions you might know from specific games.
I recommend that you download and play the map of the game you are familar with. In that case it will be easier to understand what is going on.

Hi icgamer
Welcome to the site !
I tried to recreate it but was unable too. Actually only Italy would play for me
Anyway, save the game, ctrls or top left bar "File" and post it here and we can then see what you are doing step by step.

@icgamer, thanks for the quick response. I'm excited to become part of the community, but I realize what I did wrong.
In the section of the Tutorial where it instructs me to take control of Scandinavia, but during the explanation, it says something to the effect of "Sweden and Finland will go along with you", something like that.
Well I assumed that meant I could ignore them, but I had to occupy those two countries to trigger the "war footing" from the French...
So, lack of attention to detail was my fault.
I'm happily progressing through the tutorial now, and it's really well done in expanding the AOR.
Thanks again! -
