      @beelee YES I know this - and read it many times. Still don't know:

      1. what is an escort and how to get them
      2. How many NMs can be moved by escort (the game allows transports to move 5)
      3. What is a NM2 and NM3

        Yea so only "3" NMs on a "Escort" at a time. Player Enforced. Triple has to allow illegal moves to make all Units transportable.

        NM 2 = 2 NMs and 3 =3. 3 is the most common I find because that is max Escort ability to transport. Have to use edit to place them.

          Escorts can't be purchased until turn 4, Late 1941. You can buy NMs and place them in your Capital but won't be able to move them until Escorts come into play.

          So rd 5, Early 1942, would be the soonest you could move NMs that you had previously purchased.

                @johnnycat He's in a yellow $2 territory that CKS ran away to after Mao decided that Communism is the way to go so that everybody can have a bowl of rice all to themselves every day. We are on Turn 3 in our game so Escorts not available yet. They work best in places that are bottlenecks which the Pacific doesn't have too much of. But it would probably cause me to take Pearl Harbor off of the attack list. Oh wait. Emperor has offered peace forever to Franklin so never mind, won't attack there .... Unless USA offends the Emperor's honor and rejects his offer.

                    USA3 just bought stuff, moved stuff, etc. but was surprised to find out that we were at war with Germany at the end of the turn - I had hoped to hang out with Hitler...

                    China did as they do - but they will return to wipe out the Japanese Plague soon enough...

                    And the UK did mostly India theater stuff - NOTE: I would like to have all the Land Mines in Burma ARMED...

                    I guess that is it; please let me know if I made any mistakes.

                      @johnnycat Looks fine to me. Your China moves are as good as any player on the planet so you are a fast learner I guess in terms of the moves you do. Just need to learn the rules and you will be a force. Only mistake is that you can only put 3 pieces in Western USA/SZ 10 while at peace. Since until war, all three of the industrial complexes for USA are minors. Then they convert to majors after DOW. But let's play on as it's a learning game. Will post I3 later today

                        I think it' morning there 🤔 I don't really know though 🙂

                        So to arm the LMs in India, turn on edit "Add Units" , click on India, select "Changer". There are border specific ones for India so add the

                        "India_Burma" one or ones 🙂 Then remove the unarmed ones. You have to handroll for the LMs before battle and edit any casualties.

                        It can be hard to find the right LM sometimes. If in doubt just pick a generic one and document in the comment log where it's defending.

                        You have 2 Elites in Scotland. Can only have 1 Elite in a TTy. So either take Ireland or swap him out for a regular Inf.

                        Reminder. The Commandos are only good if paired with Arty

                          Indeed General Montgomery and The Chaps (I forgot the admirals’ names) decided to plop down an unstoppable fleet in one turn. Which at this rate will be turn 8 (sure hope Stalin will still be around).

                          BAD NEWS for the game, but GREAT NEWS for me, is that I’ll be out of internet (game play) contact for five days.

                          Oh and THANK YOU for the USA notes about minor factories…. I had no idea! Is that info buried in those house rules?

                          As for China… wow they seem to have zero choices. Unless
                          Franky decides to pretend the Japs were coming and decided a preemptive strike.

                              @johnnycat China always dies unless something strange happens. The only time it didn't die in one of my games is when China rolled lights out on J1 killing all four of my ground dudes. Then the Allied player immediately declared war with Russia/UK/ANZAC and put every single possible unit on Yunnan. Even then I almost took it. Every single other game, it lasts longer than France but the result is the same. Good luck being unplugged. It's good for the soul from time to time. Gives you more time for fried scorpions and raw octopus cuisine yes?

                                This week’s reason is to check out doing some multi-day hikes in ALISHAN to the end of the Japanese-built MianYue (silent moon) railroad line. I went to the first tunnel this time. Need permit to do it all.

                                And also climb the highest peaks here: Jade Mountain (YuShan 12,966). Also located here in Alishan. Peace. Rock on. <—- we need to hear these more often again.

                                      1 how many units can be built in Egypt ?

                                      2 do players typically buy a factory for Egypt or just place bits in South Africa and rr them up?

                                      1. Are fighters good for repelling invasion fleets like sea lion? Seems like that would be a best defense but I don’t know these rules.

                                        I’ve gone through 50 train tunnels now and about to puke from the rocking sideways… darn Japanese built this thing when they colonized Taiwan…

                                        But back to figuring out this crazy amazing game:

                                        How does subs intercept fleets ? Can enemy fleets move through ?

                                        Example: sea zones 109 110. If Uk has a stack of fighters and there are subs in those zones… how can a German invasion fleet get around this?

                                        To put it another way… when can subs act like naval mines?

                                        Is there any examples of play to help learn this game? If not

                                        Would you guys be interested in helping me make such videos for a YouTube channel? I’d love to add such a thing to mine.

                                          Fctrys and Subs work basically the same as the OOB rules

                                          with a couple exceptions. Original Fctrys at Game Start can be upgraded by the Original Owner to "Heavy Industry" . Page 27 of the Captain's rulebook

                                          Basically, for 2 PUs you can update a Minor Fctry so it can now produce "4" instead of "3" units per turn.
                                          A Major Fctry costs 3 PUs to upgrade and can produce up to 12 units per turn instead of 10.

                                          So, your Egypt Fctry can only produce 3 units. Same as OOB and yes it is a common build in OOB as well as EXP or HRE, HouseRulesExpansion.
                                          The S Africa Fctry can be upgraded and then produce up to 4 units per turn.

                                          Submarines can be ignored by other Naval Vessels unless it is an unescorted Transport. This is the same as the OOB rules and triplea does it correctly.

                                          The biggest difference are the German U-boats. Page 41 of the Captain's rulebook. Basically, they only cost 4 PUs instead of 6 and if there are 3 or more present, they will form a "Wolfpack" and all U-boats will Attack or Defend at "3" for the first rd of combat only.

                                          Ftrs and Infantry are your best bet to defend against Sealion. See the "Home Defense Rule" page 38

                                          Subs aren't that effective by themselves in a defensive role. They are better off part of a larger Fleet where you can use them to strike offensively. Either in combat or Convoy raiding.

                                          You can dl some saved games from the "Play By Forum" thread that Panzer and Trout and I have played. Look through "History" to show each turn and how it played out.

                                            And my new DJI mini 5 got some good footage of the MiangYue (silent moon) abandoned railroad.

                                            That climb is actually not technical but this trip was just a scout and any actual summiting was more a dream of all elements coming together perfectly. And they did not.

                                            So I’ll have to return.

                                            Thanks for the axis allies stuff. Despite my reading all the rules, the house rules, the custom rules, the dreamers rules etc I still feel
                                            Overwhelmed.

                                            Will just have to play some turns to get a feel for all this.
