          @beelee I have a plan for Gibraltar that may surprise you a bit ๐Ÿ™‚ For the 4 LM's, you laid them on the Poland/Slovakia border, I don't know if I will cross that border or not. Very common on the Soviet/G front for units to try to bypass if they can. G has bonuses for Caucasus, Volgograd, and Novgorod. In the rulebook of course.

            @trout Yea I would not be surprised to find nuclear weapons and starfleet command in Gibraltar. Seriously how you get pass the mines?

            Anyway I RR 3 new land Mines between the Slovakia and Eastern Poland border (the blue mines) of course there are no German mines for that but plenty of Russian mines. Which says I am doing things way different than the devs thought up.

            So for the record: the ENTIRE REASON I want to play this game is to prove your earlier statement about this mod being unique actually being TENABLE.

            I want your statement to be true and huge armies in the Middle East or wherever is a fun and interesting game to play.

            I've been trying to define that thin line between keeping the axis alive long enough to actually do cool new stuff and the basic concept that I should be able to block the soviets long enough - but I might be wrong.

            Otherwise we might as well play G40 and call it checkers cause that is what that game really is if there is no room for new creativity that works.

            So hopefully I will get a few more turns to put some of this stuff together - and sure let's see the bring Rock of Gibraltar Surprise (DOES IT MOVE ?)

              @johnnycat Checkers this game is not. Maybe Grandmaster Chess .... maybe. I have seen some crazy strategies but have never seen this monstrous pile of Nazi orcs crawling up and down the Arab desert. Well, at the moment, there's no way for my comparatively modest stacks in Egypt and Caucasus to compete with that so Middle East is yours sir. Whether you can keep the Allies away from Berlin while that happens?? Well, I don't know the answer to that just yet.

                  @johnnycat Well, with regards to keeping Berlin safe, you succeeded this turn. FYI, for the Slovakia attack, I rolled for the 3 LMs and none hit. But your AAA did shoot down one fighter plane ๐Ÿ˜ž I think we finally made it past R9, so Japan is up.

                    I'm working on the Japs now - damn this game is complex.

                    You bought one of those fighter aces or the game give you one?

                    DAMN you have all the cool stuff - How do I shoot down your fighter ace or is that always protected? I see I can get ME262s, cool but seems not useful..

                    This is game is so very cool - I just need to learn to survive till turn 15 or so. and I need to start better - you taking West Germany early fked up my factory there back to small.

                      @johnnycat The game rules are that when AAA gets a hit, the attacker gets to choose the casualty so the Ace will always survive in those situations. For Fighter Aces, Soviets can only build one and those Nazis can build three. So Aces favor you more than me. They are double hitters and cost 11 so it's a good buy. An issue that one always has playing G is they have so much cool stuff that they can purchase and you can't buy everything so have to make choices

                            Hey I just got email from Janice - turns out she is mad at me because she thought I stole a bunch of items from her house - which is troubling because she suspected me first and I did not take anything.

                            But I feel better knowing that she is well and can communicate with me again - I have to believe that we will work this out.

                            Anyway I am still thinking about Japan 9 and have a plan but those darn naval mines better start blowing up some ships...

                                @johnnycat Good evening sir. Before USA considers your invite to enter SZ 6, they request that you redo your turn because we see 10 navy fighters there and the maximum allowed per rules is 8. So for carrier-based fighters, the rules are:

                                1. G can build two
                                2. UK can build four
                                3. J can build eight and limited to Pacific only
                                4. USA can build eight and limited to Pacific only
                                5. All of them can only be used to and from carriers - if they cannot land on a carrier, they die at end of turn because no carrier for them to land on

                                  @trout OMG. how many YEARS did it take for you to learn this game.

                                  I just spent an hour trying to figure out if I have to blow up factories that I don't care if you take. And I still don't know.

                                  But ok I will check this and figure out how this happened. I recall getting some gifts but who knows. I'll keep to 8

                                      I am still having fun but I feel I should speak out now.

                                      So I think there is no way for the axis to win without modifying this game MUCH MORE

                                      Suggestions (for our game for example)

                                      1. The USA/UK must attack the neutrals by turn 10 or whatever - the axis need the benefit for the game to be interesting otherwise it is just too easy for the allies to win.

                                      2. And there should be some way to force more cool stuff upon the both Axis powers. Where are the thousands of Jap mini subs?

                                      3. Where are the HItler youth and wire-guided anti-tank missiles, etc.

                                      4. And what do fighter aces do versus ME262s. None of that makes any sense to me for the axis because it is never going to make sense financially. So I suggest we Make it easier by giving the axis special fighter groups - so no need to try and balance limited funds.

                                      What do you guys think? I want to keep playing this game but would love to start another where I crush it as the allies again because I fully feel the balance is to the allies.

                                        @johnnycat Good morning JC. My thoughts are:

                                        1. No to modifying the game. Will hurt your learning curve and believe it or not the Axis has a slight advantage in this game but it's very slight.
                                        2. For a beginner it's easier to play Allies since they have alot more dough to start off with and you get to see how things play out a bit before Commies and Hot Dog-eaters enter the battle.
                                        3. Axis, it takes awhile to figure out how to use those two big advantages it has. First, G has a huge number of special killer units. Secondly, J starts off with a large navy and ridiculously large air force.
                                        4. I do agree with you that this game is headed for an Allied victory most likely. Because you really smoked me big time in our first game, I played my very best in this game and that's what you got from me. ๐Ÿ™‚
                                        5. You are welcome to surrender if you want. I have frustrated Beelee a few times when I surrendered around where the game is now if I could see no path to victory. It's really up to you because I want to help you learn.
                                        6. I think it may benefit you for the next game to be you playing Allies since with your big Pacific trick which I wasn't prepared for, you didn't really get a feel for playing somebody as the Allies past a few turns.

                                        Anyway, just let me know what you decide sir

                                          Second : I did say that I still want to continue this - and if the pace slows down or, better yet you invade Spain, I might have a chance

                                          And yes I sure do need more experience.

                                          But WE gotta play this BBR now too!

                                          Here is me crushing the Pacific as the allies, the jap player has his entire fleet cowering in the southwest...

                                          There are big tournaments for this game and you get 6 hours to play it and 8 turns ! Plenty of additional units and rules that, like our game, opens up plenty of possibilities Just a thought...
