Crazy Europe: House of Habsburg
-
@crazyg So were is the map? Can't see it in the downloads?
-
@CrazyG Welcome back! Guessing this is the same map as discussed in: http://tripleadev.1671093.n2.nabble.com/WW1-Map-Ideas-td7594034.html
-
Its historical-ish. The borders on based on a map I found on wikipedia. Sweden and Denmark are in a bloody war, and Sweden controls St. Petersburg. You have this massive land war between Russia and Poland-Lithuania. The Ottomans are sieging Budapest at the start, and France is positioned to start taking land from the Habsburgs. Venice pretty much had to be a Habsburg ally, so it didn't just die everygame

@General_Zod
You can set support attachments to give additional dice, rather than rolling a better dice. I just did that, a castle gives -1 dice to 5 enemy units@Hepps
Its not uploaded yet, I'm still cleaning up the XML and making sure no units are missing from the folders. Its the same map image that I intend for the WW1 scenario -
@crazyg Cool, I didn't know you can minus dice too.
Are those light blue coastal sz for designated amphibious landing zones or something else?
-
@general_zod
You can only access land via the light blue sea zones. The dark blue don't have a connection to any land territories. It makes defending coast against navy a lot more manageable -
@crazyg Love this idea of restricted land access!! More power to the people, less power to the SHIP. That's what I always say. 'M-O-O-N that spell more power to the people!'
cheers...

@crazyg said in Crazy Europe: House of Habsburg:

Historically the Ottomans took Pest and Buda (separate towns at the time) in 1541, and the capital of the Kingdom of Hungary was Pozsony (Pressburg, Bratislava) at the time period. Couldn't resist correcting this
Also, ask me any time about Hungarian history

@crazyg Very excited to see this wonderful creation back in the news. I look forward to seeing it listed in the lobby games!
Just holler if you need a hand with anything. I'd be happy to help out with anything.

@crazyg Nice looking map. Are the gray neutral territories going to be capturable? Glad to help review/fix XML

-
@alkexr
The borders were drawn based on google image search results for roughly the year 1650. I'm open to adjusting them, I'd really appreciate helps with names too.@redrum
Yes you can invade neutrals. Ideally marching through Italy, Germany, or Romania to attack the enemy should be a strategic option. You can also take neutral lands in order to gain access to the villages.@All
XML is fine. I'm playing a local game now to find the last few issues, should be uploaded soon -
How can I open the error log? I think there is an error with the polygon file I've isolated, however the game just immediately crashes without showing the error message.
-
@crazyg if using a newer engine you have to turn it on in engine settings now
-
@prastle thanks
-
@crazyg np and they turned it off by default so silly little things would stop confusing reg players that it is an error. Power users like you can turn it on

-
I'm trying to upload the map to Github, but the link in the guide isn't working. Could someone invite me to the correct page?
-
@crazyg you have to submit the pr and then they can invite you.

@beelee
Yes I've tried following that guide, when I click on the links I need to I reach a 404 link not found page -
@crazyg what is the link?
