Does the Make Default button in map options work?

I adjusted the options on a map to what I wanted; and clicked on the "make default" button; but it doesn't seem to stick; the next time I loaded the map it's gone back its normal default settings.
is there a known bug with it? Is there something else I have to do to make it stick?
I'm on .8304 -
@zlefin Hmm...thought I remember it working before. That was quite a while ago though. But yea not working for me either. Tried it on 7621.
