Total World War: Strategy Guide

@hepps Yeah, I'm open to re-ordering them to probably turn order. Though if I did that I'd probably add a little field to give a difficulty rating for each. And thanks for the image love.
-
I added a bit about watching out for Italian can openers as well.
@Hepps I reworked some of the image placement and formatting. Open to suggestions.

-
@hepps Hehe, he looks pretty wired. No more caffeine for Hepps.
-
@general_zod Is that his Businessman of the world haircut?
-
@general_zod Sure caffeine... yah caffeine... let's go with that as an explanation.
-
Looks very nice with the new icons!
-
Germany is up.
-
I would consider hiding the detailed descriptoins within spoilers.
Good tips on Germany.
-
@crazyg I don't think we currently have anyway to have spoilers on the forum though its a good idea.
-
@redrum I think you forgot logistics for german tech. At least I think logistics is the most important tech at all.
-
@wirkey I added Logistics now though in 2.8 I don't prioritize it nearly as much as in 2.7. Trains tend to make the extra truck movement not as important as before. I also think less experienced players struggle to use trucks effectively so buffing air/land unit stats and getting free materials is better.
-
@redrum Not only trucks get +1 movements, trains too. And don't forget the scrambling from Carriers. Not that important for Germany/Russia, but it'S huge for the Pacific powers and UK trying to defend beachheads in France/Norway/North Africa
-
@wirkey I thought +1 train movement was in improved logistics?
And yeah logistics is key for Japan, UK, and USA for carrier scrambling. I have that in the USA tech priorities already.
-
@redrum said in Total World War: Strategy Guide:

no, simple logistics. I just tried it
-
@redrum I have different opinions on many points, but as I always loose against you, I'll better keep them to myself
-
@wirkey LOL. Well, maybe I'm just a bit lucky Though glad to have a discussion around strategy regardless even if its a bit more advanced then what I'm putting in the guide.
It appears you are correct on the trains. That might change my German strategy a bit. Though for this guide I think leaving logistics after the main land/air unit techs is probably best. Its still more of a nice to have and need to understand how to utilize trucks/trains well to take full advantage of the extra movement which most newer players struggle with.
-
Funny enough, I was going to suggest that logistics was a really important tech, but given that redrum always wins versus me I was quiet
-
Japan is posted. Soldier on!
-
At last... The UK is posted. Enjoy the light reading!
Probably will look to add some sections for general tips and such but I think its coming together pretty well.
