Improving AI without improving AI code

What types of things does the AI have a hard time dealing with (XML options)?
- meaning what options tend to be ignored by AI, but a human can capitalize on.
I am thinking that one way to improve AI is to design maps & XML without those human benefiting options.

The further from traditional A&A features you use generally the AI will perform more poorly as most of them it doesn't understand.
