      Hello,

      I have been playing the Total World War map for the past couple days and every turn during the AI players' non-combat move phase the game will take stop for several minutes, adding up to quite a long time in total between turns. The message given is "Trigger italianMecht1: Setting isLandTransport to true for unitAttachment attached to italianMech.Infantry", or something similar, and with other countries as well. I seem to remember playing before without it happening, so that makes me think it's not supposed to happen. I was wondering if this is correct and there is something I can do to avoid this, maybe with the settings, or if I just have to deal with it.

      Thanks in advance.

      Also I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this, so if not let me know.

        @colin This sounds suspiciously like a question for @redrum.

          @colin This happens because the AI is determining what its non-combat moves should be before making them all. The AI on large/complex maps will tend to "stop for a while" at the start of combat move and start of non-combat move. The AI also doesn't understand all the rules on TWW so plays pretty poorly (especially around building infrastructure as it can't handle materials). You can go to the top menu bar in game "Debug" > "Show Hard AI Logs" to watch it "thinking".

          There has been some AI improvement made since the last stable release regarding performance on large maps. You can try out the latest pre-release here: https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases. You'll need to start a new game if you do as it isn't compatible with the current stable release.

          Also, I'd probably recommend using Fast AI if you are going to play against the AI on TWW. It plays about 10x faster.

            Thanks for the info. I tried the Fast AI and it definitely helped, I don't know why I hadn't thought of that. I couldn't figure out what to do with the pre-release so I guess I'll just wait till it's the actual release.

              @colin Hi colin

              You need to make a new folder for the prerelease. I usually name it whatever the number of the release is. Then when you're installing it and it prompts you to either uninstall or install to a different folder type in your new folder with all the correct / and stuff and continue following the prompts to fire it up.

              For some reason I always had to reopen the new folder and fire it up a second time to get the little army guy to show up. probably me just doing something wrong

                @colin Glad to hear that.

                For the pre-release, you can install that alongside the current release so that you can potentially test out the new features/AI improvements. If you have 64-bit windows then the download link is here for the latest pre-release: https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases/download/1.10.14614/TripleA_1.10.14614_windows-64bit.exe. Best thing to do is when it asks for an install folder just add the version number to the end of it so you don't override your existing actual release install.

                Eventually, you'll probably want to join the MP lobby or ask for a game here on the forums as TWW was really designed to be played against other humans 🙂
