Just wanna play 1942 with no mods

Hi all! I used to play AAA way back in the day, and today decided to see if it's still around. My family and I were debating whether to buy the Steam game of A&A 1942, but I suggested we look into this. My family are purists, and want nothing but the exact rules and map layout of the actual physical board game that we have of 1942. How do I ensure I have the right map/ruleset to do this? Thanks for your help!

@BlackOpsBen No basic games in TripleA follow exactly the rules (due to bugs, unsupported features, and such), but they should all be correct on the layout. Anyways, if you know the rules, that should assure you against most issues.
I surmise what you are looking for is "World War II v4" (though that is currently an obsolete game, since the release of the second edition of the same).

Hi Ben welcome to the site. As cernel says, triplea won't do everything 100% rule compliant, but it is real close and by using edit and player enforcing rules triplea doesn't support, it's even closer.
42 on steam doesn't follow all the rules either, although it is still early in it's development and continues to improve:
