This is a collaborative map between Ebbe (Graphics, Code, Sound, Testing) & TheDog (Code, Testing)
- A historical map set about 1561 Japan, intended for solo play or a Free for All with the balance being played by the Fast AI or Hard AI
- 15 playable factions, comprising 13 Samurai Clans and the Ikko Ikki and Wako Pirates
- Factions typically start with 4 historically 'home' territories/cities and three random territories/cities, so each game is different. This simulates the minor clans changing their allegiances even they might get brave and start their own conquests
- Large size map 11264x6290px=71MP, amongst one of the largest TripleA maps, with Unit size equivalent to 68x68px (54x54px x1.25 unit size) with 4K screens in mind.
- The map has lots of Cities, Mountain Passes, uncrossable Mountains, Rocky Shores, Coastal and Open seas all channelling forces.

ā¢ Monopolies, 11 historical commodities highly sort after in the Sengoku period
ā¢ Diplomacy/Politics you will need friends and foes to ascend the ladder to be Shogun
ā¢ Natural Disasters, like Blocked mountain passes, Earthquakes, Tsunamis and Storms
ā¢ Peasants will revolt
ā¢ Kami (Shinto Spirits of the world) will either aid or hinder your rise to power

Map Zoom
Remember to use map zoom ctrl+mouse wheel, to zoom out of the map, that is, to make it smaller..
Our game needs more java RAM allocating to it ā¦
If you have 8GB or more of RAM it is suggested that you follow this link to improve Shogun Advanced game speed. It changes the TripleA.vmoptions. It also shows you how to put it back.

2K & 4K Screens
It is hoped that with a map size of 11264x6290px=71MP and effective unit size of 68x68px that Shogun Advanced can be played on a 4K screen properly in all their 3840x2160px glory. Please let us know?.
For Code Raiders
This map has the following code that is worth looking at;- The land territory Mon.png/flag unit uses a feature of the isAA that puts them in the 1st slot of the place.txt list to position the Mon/flag.
- The sea zone _convoy.png/flag uses the little used convoy.txt file to position the _convoy.png/flag
- Extensive use of foreach, with a count of 250, making it so much easier to maintain the xml
- Politics of thousands of lines of xml code reduced to hundreds of lines with the use of foreach
- 16 Nested foreach for eg. $AllPlayers$^$RandomHighPU$, a complex-ish piece of code putting the correctly owned castles in the correctly owned random territories, saving over 90% lines of code
- One of the first maps to use isAI. This allows the map maker to make the map do clever/obvious things or give bonuses to the AI without the player selecting anything. However it does require TripleA 2.6.14517 onwards.

@ebbe I am impressed with this mod. Most Japan mods try to play the Shogun/Samurai Swords/Ikusa game while your mod seriously simulates the actual war, with mountain passes and fortifications playing key roles.

thanks to @TheDog and extra support from other heroes like @wc_sumpton ,for a very pleasant jolly good cooperation in this project... and we were serious digging deep in research
in old japanese maps for historical mount passes, locations of resources, cities and settlements and adding suitable army units and natural events....
creating extra matching sound effects and background sphere sounds, (check the arrows hitting wood or ships sailing away , haha ) adding extra sphere and strategy with partly random forwarding terr.'s and bonus or penalty "kami"
anyway, we had a lot of fun in creating! And we hope the ingame map downloads will be fixed sooner or later so that we can easier share it for players!and if our TripleA improvement wishlist one day may become reality,
it will get closer to the result we had in mind -

Remember it only works with a certain certain version of 2.6 now its 2.6.14650 as this version is capable of downloading maps.

They should do, I tested 14650Some info, the fix, 2.6 now uses the same file for 2.5 maps so

So it will still have the same issues of old.For the new proposed file download for 2.6, this is still waiting on @LaFayette, but his time is limited.

I have been posting my collection of scenarios on Github using 2.6 standards.

2.6 & map.yml is the future, but LaFayette is not a frequent visitor anymore and it would appear he is the only one capable of making 2.6 & map.yml downloads work, so your call as to whether to backtrack over all your previous uploads and put them in triplea_maps.yamlPerhaps just put the new ones from now on in triplea_maps.yaml ?

On balance that is probably for the best, delay updating the flaky triplea_maps.yaml till you have to. Do you have 30+ maps uploaded and with more to come? -

yessss! finally finished the update 2.5 of the Shogun Advanced -project...
now all new features and great possibilities of TripleA 2.6 implemented.... like the "<option name="isAI" value="true"/>" element, improving Ai-opponents gameplay......
and other minor updates...
as allways: feedback very welcome at this forum-thread....thanks at @thedog for our long lasting >3 year "project-marriage ", all support, answering my hundreds of questions patiently &even uploading the update to Github!!
