In order to purchase Global 1940 - 2nd edition you need to buy A&A Europe 1940 and A&A Pacific 1940.
I saw there is a quite expensive map available to play it. Is that what most people do?

I think Revised is probably the most popular in the lobby for live online play. Global 1940 is the most popular at the A&A league site for Play By Forum. https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/category/29/league
Most still use bung's map not UHD.Yea you purchase them separate and put them together to create Global
