      I'm new to creating custom maps. I looked through some of the existing posts; however, I didn't find what I was looking for.

      Looking at other maps, the game.xml file declares the following dtd file:

      <!DOCTYPE game SYSTEM "game.dtd">

      I can't seem to find a copy of the game.dtd file though within other maps nor the main tripleA GitHub repo. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of it? I was hoping to find it so that the schema checking in VS Code would work correctly.

        @wdspider

        Welcome to the forum.

        You need to open the triplea....jar file for example with 7zip.

        Find the game.dtd here:

        C:...\TripleA\bin\game-headed-2026-"any".jar\games\strategy\engine\xml\game.dtd

        Look at it with any editor.

        Alternatively find it here:
        https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/blob/main/game-app/game-core/src/main/resources/games/strategy/engine/xml/game.dtd

        Don't always trust TripleA when it comes to rules questions. Know the rules before you start … and better check what TripleA has done.
