Looking for PBEM players for TWW 2.8.0.3
-
@wirkey You just play too fast! Though to be fair I think the 2 of us have finished more PBF TWW games then everyone else combined!
@oigroig78 I'd be open to a MP TWW PBF game (4-6 players). The challenges as I see in doing it are:
- Need to find pretty balanced teams so the game lasts more than just a few rounds.
- Need to find people that can commit to pretty much playing their turn in 24-48 hours after posted as otherwise everyone else ends up waiting on them and can end up having each player only getting like 1 turn a week which is hard to keep interested in.
-
What I can say about me is that my level is "beginner", but I do love the complexity of TWW, which makes the game so realistic.
-
I would guess that the level of experience from most to least is
Wirkey-->redrum-->CrazyG-->oigroigSo the most balanced teams are probably oigroig and wirkey vs me and redrum. I'm also hesitating but I'll give it a try
-
@crazyg Well, that would be fine with me but I'm guessing @wirkey probably wouldn't agree to that

I think the question probably is how big of a skill gap is there between you and @oigroig78. As I think the other 3 of us are probably at least in the same ballpark as I've played competitive games against each of you.
-
@redrum
Oigroig is probably less experienced (not to be mean). Maybe after he and I finish a game we can do a multi. -
@crazyg Yeah, that would probably be a good idea.
-
I agree me too, iβm For sure the less experienced on the game as @CrazyG can witness (no offence, itβs the true). In case of future multi game, I consider taking Italy as nation, because of limited range of action.
-
@oigroig78 if you want to learn and improve I suggest to not only take Italians.
For beginners I think Russia might be a good start as they don't need that much coordination with other Allies. For the Axis I think Germany/Italy are easier than Japan. -
Watching other players really helped me when I was newer. Especially for Japan's and Germany's turn one. I would even consider just copying someone elses opening moves at first. Then make small changes and observe the advantages/disadvantages.
It would be really nice if someone wrote a guide for new players first few turns (especially tech choices). I've played a few times but I still don't get why I would ever take a few of the tech options
-
Yeah, watching other players or looking through save games can be very helpful for newer players. It at least gives players a solid starting place and can see how the map usually plays out the first few rounds.
I'll try to put a little guide together that covers basic strategy for each nation and some of the unique TWW features.
-
Thank you so much @redrum that would be very useful! A strategies discussion section for TWW would be nice as well.
-
@redrum & @oigroig78 Not sure if we can put a sub-folder into the TWW thread. But that would be a nice way to keep it with the main content for the map
-
I would like to play, but I'm a rookie; dunno
-
Hi, I'm looking for an opponent. My last opponent ghostronin disappeared (heard nothing for two weeks). And even if he returns - the game is settled enough to play another one at the same time.
Full Disclosure: I'm discussing my moves with a friend, feel free to also form a team, as long as it doesn't slow down the game too much. Best is, live in the same timezone and use skype/teamspeak/discord/whatever...
-
@gully You may want to hold off on starting a new game for a couple of days until I get the last of the fixes done.
-
@hepps alright sure, no problem.
-
@gully I just got dice mails from my game against ghostronin, so there is still hope
But I'm happy to start a new game, either now or waiting for Hepps. -
@gully new version is out. You want to start a new one?
-
@wirkey yes

I'd like to play Axis this time. Played Allies the last few games. If that's okay.Forum game or PBEM game?
-
@gully sure, played a lot of axis game lately, so I'm fine with Allies. Don't care if pbf or pbem
