hammond (Allies) defeats Nardawgg (Axis+10) in Rd 13. This was a very off balance game for the Allies and they would be on edge all game as one mistake would lead to London or even Washington to fall. Some explanation is in order. Axis took the bid and placed a plane in Norway. So as a result UK was without a fleet before rd1. $ spent to buy a new one and delays to help Russia was for a nervous time. However, without the extra plane in that most of important sea battle in 15 to land in Egypt, Germany lost a critical placement and no further support to Africa as it had lost a tranny and had to retreat. The Allies took advantage and USA was pouring troops into Africa. Then, time seemed to stop for USA as it discovered the Japanese fleet coming up from the south. This greatly vexed the US Admirals and they argued and argued about how to defeat the fleet. Japan Admirals were much better and out-manuervered the Americans, setting up a classic decision for the Axis, destroy the Allied Atlantic fleet or own the Med? Well, the combined Allied Atlantic fleet sunk to the bottom forcing the USA into the pacific and the UK remaining fleet to the Artic. The US owned the med though and later saw an opportunity to finally kill the Japan fleet. Meanwhile, Germany never fully recovered from early rounds and plane loses and was turtled waiting for Japan to own the world. Japan land forces were on the march, but Russia and UK were holding them to a tie until an opportunity to seize a split force opened up on Persia and Russia took it. The combined loss of Persia and the Japan Atlantic fleet hastened the Emperor to end the war and surrendered. It was a different game for sure and very enjoyable and a nice player. Thanks for the game Nardawgg and good luck in the rest of the tourneynvh.tsvg

bayder (Allies) defeats @jbwood53 (Axis +9) by surrender in round 13. Berlin was surrounded and going to fall in round 14. While Japan was on Moscow's doorstep, Russia had enough to defend long enough for Allies to rally and protect it. Thanks to jb for a fast, fun, and friendly game!

Epinikion (axis +9) defeats Barca (allies) by surrender in uk5. A very entertaining pacific attack including an uk factory in india r1 allowed usa taking East Indies very early (r2). While japs where under high pressure germany started a very strong attack towards caucasus and went for adventures vs allies pacific fleet including taking brasil. Thank you Barca for the nice game!

Blasherke defeats VitaminT (Axis, +8) in a for my standards short but very entertaining game. Axis went hard on Africa, and managed to join Med and Pacific Fleet. Allies reacted by a combined attack on W-Europe, taking out parts of the Luftwaffe early in the game. After this, the buildup contest really started. In round 7 Axis command felt that it was time to settle for peace, and accepted Allied terms. Thanks to VitaminT, a very fast and creative player, with a clear love of the game.

Calbears Axis +9 defeated Vahe345 in Rnd 16 after the Fuhrer's turn. A back and forth game, Vahe345 was a gentleman and withdrew from Moscow in a last chance sprint to Germany that was cutoff by the advancing Japanese ground forces through Ukraine. Stalin and Churchill were captured and executed for Crimes against humanity.

jbwood53 (axis+10) defeats Kindwind by surrender in R8 in a fast-paced game played live. Germany was immediately on the defensive with an aggressive assault by the allies starting with a full Normandy invasion in R3. Germany repelled the invaders by inspiring its troops with promises of abundant French wine. The victory was not to last, as UK and US continued to invade Western Europe in each of the following rounds while building a sizeable navy, whittling German forces down to its remaining Luftwaffe and a few infantry and tanks.
Meanwhile, Japan saw an opportunity and seized decisive control of Asia, and Allies surrendered when the fall of Russia was imminent.

Thanks to Kindwind for great sportsmanship and a fast-paced game. Until we play again!

bayder (Axis) defeats Shmod (Allies) by surrender in round 4. A lucky AA shot for Axis spelled doom for the Allied holding in Egy, and the Allied generals decided to surrender after their African base was wiped out. This was an intense, crazy game that seemed like it went much longer than 4 rounds. Thanks to Shmod for the great game, he's a dangerous opponent!

King Kelly defeats JeffSchultz (Axis +9). Bid was 6G+3J, which led to Germany attacking fierce in orund one, stacking all countries close to Russia as much as possible. Russia counterattacked in round 2 and had some extreme dice luck. USA built a factory in Norway, which was recaptured by Germany, and then taken by UK. Meanwhile Japan had started to built up and was moving towards the West. But the combined Allies forces were able to held Japan back, whilst Germany was on low money and could not recover. Jeff saw that coming and surrendered early, so the Axis generals could retreat and move to South America. Thanks Jeff for a very fun game, fast played in two conitnents 😉

Barca defeats Handsome (axis +8) by Projection of Power in round 7. Allies started with a strong presence in Asia by building an India factor on E1. While this game was approaching its apex, ie Germany was at Moscow's doorstep, the axis powers made a relatively minor but fatal error and allowed the allies to win by taking 9 victory cities. Wish it would have ended in a blaze of glory, but I will take the easy way out.8R.tsvg

I, the Handsome one, now definitely proven not being the clever one, loses with Axis (+8) vs Barca, by projection of power.
The Allied started with a lot of pressure on Japan, including a factory in India. Germany got to control Africa and even took Brazil. While Japan was able to keep hanging on to their precious Islands and keeping a foothold in Asian mainland, Germany grew strong and started to march towards Moscow and the Middle East.
The Pacific theatre of war was challenging to play and offered at least me, a lot of fun. Thanks to Barca for letting me play a little before going for the kill:).

The game ended in round 7, when Mussolini and the Italians had a siesta and forgot to defend it's shores.
Thanks to Barca for a fun, challenging and a little unorthodox game:) I wish him the best of luck in the rest of the tournament.8R.tsvg

CmdData (Allies) defeats Brennan (Axis +9) via arbitration in round 26 following Germany's turn. The Axis suffered very poor dice in the first two rounds and could not really recover. This culminated on J2 when Japan attacked Borneo with a battleship shot, 1 inf, 1 art, and 2 fighters
vs 2 infantry. Japan received the 2 in 81 outcome (2.5%) where Borneo wasn't captured and all ground units on both sides eliminated.

The Axis powers purchased many early Japanese fighters in an attempt to keep hold of Egypt. By round 9, the Axis evacuated from Egypt to Trans Jordan which was complicated by large Russian stacks in both Caucasus and West Russia. The next few rounds saw Africa reclaimed for the Allies
and then the Allies began to power their way to a sizeable TUV and unit count advantage which kept growing round by round.

The later rounds saw large airforces for both Germany and Japan with them aggressively posted in Western Europe. The Axis kept fighting hard to hold what ground they could.

The first big battle of the game occurred on US 14 when the US executed an 11 transport drop into Southern Europe which was costly to both sides but harmed Germany a bit more.

By Russia 17, the large Russian stack was able to march into Eastern Europe and execute a strangle hold on German income for a few rounds. By R19, Russian and German TUV were identical at 618 and Russia had 13 more units than Japan. Comparing ground + air units only, Russia had 29
                                more units than Japan.

Then the massive Japanese army came knocking by stacking Novo on J19. On R20, Russia released the strange hold on EE to come back to ward off Japan and prevent Caucasus from being captured. By R22, the Allies had rotated their forces so that Russia could fight Japan and the UK and US contain and push back the advancing Germans.

The Allies pincered the German stack in EE in round 22 by having the UK stack Karelia and the US stack Ukraine. Round 23 saw Germany force the Allies to choose which to keep stacked. The Allies opted for Ukraine and then advanced that stack to Balkans in round 24. The US took root in Southern Europe in round 25 with no plans to give up holding that complex. Arbitration happened with the majority of the German force turtled in Germany and a sizeable force of 66 units in Karelia. TUV at that point (following G26) was 2268 to 1698. Total units was 515 to 358. The game rages on and is now in round 28.

Thanks to Brennan for an enjoyable game and the fierce competition. Not once did he complain about the dice results despite very rotten Axis outcomes in the first 2 rounds. He's a solid and skilled player. I recommend your playing against him if you have not had the pleasure to do so before.

                                VGG!

epinikions axis (+9) won today versus bayders allies. The story of the game would have been very interesting to tell (e.g. 14 fighters and the bomber known as the royal air force), but the dices went all in axis direction. Uncounted bombing raids by axis against allies factories, but the allies aa fire missed the axis bombers again and again.

Calbears Axis (+9) defeated King Kelly in Rnd 8. Japan's naval and air force stymied early advances from the US Pacific Fleet, allowing Germany to build its forces and advance on Moscow. The fuhrer's massive Panzer force steamed rolled towards Moscow and King always being smart, saw no need for needless casualties and put the people first to fight another day. As always, a gentleman and scholar.

Nardawgg (Allies) defeats CmdData (Axis +10) Round 11 by projection of power. The first few rounds had wild dice with 1's hitting and 5's missing, and when the dust settled allies were in a solid position. after a few rounds of gaining ground in Africa and Europe the allies had around a 30IPC income advantage. Germany was an unbreakable force with a massive land force impenetratable from any single allied force, but Germany couldn't break out with all 3 allied armies stacked in Ukraine with an American factory. In this stalemate, after securing Africa and sending a massive army into Persia, the American fleet moving from the atlantic to the pacific, a sneak strike on Manilla and Kwangtung and the Persian army into Calcutta led to the end of the game with 9-3 VC's before thousands of TUV had to die needlessly.

                                          Hello everyone,
In a very strange game Tulkas (allies) over ingcameroni (axis +9) by surrender in R2. After a great dice in R1, Cam tried the Sea Lion strategy with Germany. Surprised (and a bit shocked) Tulkas jarred his memory to recall grouping all the ships (UK/USA/Russia) off the coast of UK. In even more of a shock Japan bought two factories in R1, no doubt to get to Russia quickly. USA abandoned the Brits in the Atlantic and went Pacific to keep Japan from buying units with these factories (and because SZ52 ships were still alive). Dice were back and forth and unpredictable mostly favoring the defender (after R1). Ultimately axis made a game changing error in the sea around WE that allowed UK (and USA if needed) to take out key planes there. I considered an edit but it was too much of one due to those ships being used for too many things in the G2 turn. I don't think I'd every played ingcameroni but he is almost too nice of a guy and a very good sport. I hope to play him again in the future.
