2.6 Testing (Report 2.6 problems here)

There's been lots of recent changes so I think it would be great if more folks could test the latest 2.6 prerelease for any problems.

One reason for the poor uptake in testing is the 2.6 map download servers dont work.
So players have to

• download a map with 2.5
• play/test in 2.6
• link that with 2.6 unzipping problems

=too many hurdles.

Map downloads are now dependent on the server and database to be operational. The database server on the prerelease server keeps crashing. It is currently crashed and probably has been for a bit now (before I was manually turning it back on every now and then).

Second, we also have disk space issues. That could be causing the DB to halt. Second, there might be something in the deployment that is killing the database.

@thedog Yea, I did notice that.

I'm not sure why each version uses separate download servers. Why can't 2.6 just use the 2.5 servers?

It works fine for me as long as I download maps with 2.5, so I have both around. Or is there some other problem as well you're running into?

Hi. The "all" button has gone away in version 2.6 when clicking on a territory in the Combat and Non Combat phases. It still seems to be there in the Place Unit phase.

I've attached screenshots of two games (both World War II Global 1940 2nd Ed.) one played on the latest 2.6 release and the other on the current 2.5 release to illustrate the issue. In the 2.6 game the Russian select units box does not have the "All" button (it is present on the screenshot from the 2.5 game).

Funny you should ask, Im testing TripleA-2.6.801

Its currently the fastest version coming in with 20sec, for my simple test.

For comparison TripleA-2.5.22294 is 43sec.

So its over twice as fast 2.5, fantastic for AI players and for testing.

On 2.6.801 I used a save made on 2.5 and all the National Objectives are screwed up. Most didn't show up at all and some showed up incorrectly. Also I have "Rail" units that should place at start of CombatMove but don't.

Unfortunately i didn't make a separate save for 2.5, so i can't post the same game. This is the 2.6 one Game 20 EXP 7.643 2.6.801 Pre.tsvg
Japan and USA both didn't get any NO's or Rail units placed. Also, some Notifications didn't show up either.

Here's a quick 2.5 save that shows the rail units and Objectives showing up.

I was able to find a 2.5 in Auto Save. This should make for easier comparison. Run this in 2.5 2.5 Auto Save Test Recreate.tsvg

And this in 2.6 2.6auto Save Test Recreate.tsvg

Note the Ojectives panel differences and if you wanna bomb through Germany you'll see how the Rail units and Notifications don't show up.

Thanks, I am able to reproduce with your 2.5 save game - I can see that for example none of the American NOs are met in 2.6, but most of them are in 2.5. I'll take a look.

@beelee This should be fixed now and should be available in the next prerelease (https://github.com/triplea-game/triplea/releases/tag/2.6.812 - once it's available).

Can you test again and confirm that the issues you've observed are all resolved? (Once the above prerelease is available.)

@myrd with 2.6.813 the objectives now work correctly. However, the "Rail" units and Notifications don't show up. Use this in 2.5 2.5 Auto Save Test Recreate B.tsvg and you'll notice at the start of Russia's combat move 2 Rail and 1 Europe Rail in Russia.

And at the end of Japan's turn this Notification.
