Lobby Upgrade to v5802
-
@hepps Umm its clearly super skynet and I for one welcome our new bot overlords
-
@imbaked Wouldn't it then be Botnet?
-
part 1 is about done, we have updated our hosting plan. Now starting on the part 2, last part, actual lobby software upgrade.
-
@Lafayette looking forward to that new lobby smell. the beer cans and cig butts were really piling up
-
@hepps I will call the bot overlord whatever it wants
-
@imbaked so long we can play skynet can take over ;-D
-
@imbaked Such a good, subservient player slave. Your new Lobby overlord will not shuffle you to the extermination camps with such a docile attitude.
-
LOL and they thought all was crazy ....
-
@imbaked dont trough out the old beer cans they are money in metal...
-
software upgrade is done, new lobby is up.
But there is a problem - The old database to new database bridge is not working properly and the old database data is not being accessed. Existing user accounts are not being recognized, so you have to recreate an account.
We need to decide at this point if we are going to shut down the lobby and go back to the old version, or if it's okay to just have everyone recreate their account under the new lobby software.
-
@hepps I love it when a plan comes together
-
@lafayette Would this be a one-time issue?
Are there any possible ramifications to anything else?
-
The old DB is going the way of the dodo : )
I think I just found the config problem, will restart lobby pretty soon with a config update. Looks like I did not copy the DB files over.
-
@hepps Is there a way to notify people with accounts?
-
@lafayette how long after next restrat for the bots to be ready?
-
So do I need to recreate or just wait patiently?
-
@afatcat so far i know we going back to old version
-
@lafayette , trying to log in...message says, "no user found by that name"...AdamF
-
@thekhan TY, I will wait patiently.
-
We are likely done and will be working on bots.
- the software upgrade had problems, we downgraded to old version that uses only an old DB. The data in that DB looks to have gone... existing user accounts will need to be recreated.
I think this means we will need to rush the updated lobby software, and will drop the old DB hard rather than trying to bridge user account data. That has not gone well, so I think the best we can do is to minimize how many people would have to recreate their account. Everyone would have to do that now, and then again when we get on a new database.
