Basic XML Error/Unpacking/Packing

I don't know what i'm doing wrong. In the past I used to be able to extract a game edit the XML and pack it with 7zip.
Every time I do this now, it throws errors. I am lost and the guides i've found here either be too in depth or just don't work for me. Sorry in advance if my search function power isn't enough

Just unzip the files and leave them unzipped and run them as that.What version are you using?
2.5.22294 or 2.6xxx -

@gunther-s yea what Dog said. Just put the folder directly into downloaded maps. if it has a -master rename it so it's gone.

That seems to work. I don't understand what I was doing. It was giving me errors before and not loading. I must have not been doing 'that'.. Or maybe I had both the zipped and unzipped. Anyways, thanks 1,000,000,000
