@ted-self You should be able to get victory cities to work, it is actually fairly easy to do.

The problem with AgeWorld is the time scale. Normally TripleA is used to model specific conflicts, not the rise and fall of civilizations. Two stable alliances covering thousands of years of history doesn't make sense as a simulation, although it can work as a game.

You may want to take a look at games which have some political models like 1888A Steam & Steel where the AI players gang up on the leader or the vassalage model from Twelve Clans.

@rogercooper I see, Yes I will look into it. Another way to play ageworld is to set everyone against everyone using edit on turn one. That gets rid of the thing about unrealistic alliances lasting thousands of years, but at some point the gods might have to intervene to keep the aztecs from destroying the incas and then winning the game.

1888A Steam & Steel tech tree is modelled on Age of Tribes, but only spans about 100 years.

@thedog @thedog Well I downloaded it but it wont load. It says in part- game engine not compatible with jar file- current engine 2.5.22294 not compatible with ver, 2.7.14848 required by map.

To play any any of the modern maps with isAI in the xml/code you will need a stable version later than 2.5.22294

@ted-self I have generally found that pure free-for-alls don't work very well as games. There needs to be at least a way of declaring war and making peace.

you may want to check out "Another World" for a game that is a "Civilization" type game. It has a few errors that pop up from time to time.

I think this happened, the infantry moved by rail as below

Industry - have Invisible rail links to move land units up to 2 territories
Industry-Hvy - have Invisible rail links to move land units up to 3 territories

So check the documentation in the help or pdf or unit tool tips

Yes,
comment out the 8 territories in RandomHighPU line 460 with

Uncomment the 8 lines at 8818 so Germania belongs to the Autocrats

Change the 8 random flags from 5 to 4 at line 8836, as 8 have been assigned above

@ted-self I know you can code but I had to test it, so xml attached, replace your current one with this.
