The TAW game has a massive imbalance and also feature tweaks needed, but love the faction variation ideas. The sea units +1 against each lesser unit is a mess and needs to be eliminated or simplified and eliminate the Bireme bonus against the Supreme or adjust otherwise.
Rome is massively imbalanced vs. all other entities, such as lack of archer. The Ballista does not compensate and is irrelevant as played. Costs are off overall for every unit. The Phalanx is a Greek only thing and massively over powered and should be eliminated since the Hoplite is in fact the phalanx...
Elephants should be eliminated except for Carthage and are massively overpowered and per history totally irrelevant to military history except for a few minor battles involving Alexander the Great prior to Rome and never again relevant. Add back the levy's for Rome but keep the skirmishers.
You can't have walls with those bonus's and lack of the archer unit for ALL factions, must have archer if you do those bonus to Walls/Forts and modify other to balance. Rome used Archers massively as did all other factions to some degree.
Also, the Game Notes vs. Unit Help is very much unclear and totally confusing. Unify it to match or put everything in Unit help and scrap the Game Notes.
I'll post back with much much more specific as I play test this one, since I love the map/game possibilities but have yet to see this one get developed properly...
