My experience is that the Domination map is too big, slowing the game. In additional problem is that designers often add many other things on to the Domination map. I just tried Domination-Weltpolitik, and was faced with a dozen player action choices per turn as the US.

Jurassic is a free for all, which is generally not interesting to play.

Russian Civil War is a good mod that I have tried in various versions.

@rogercooper OK thanks for answering. I like how big the Domination map is despite making the game slower to play.
