@rogercooper Wasn't Fantastic Forces just the old name of Elemental Forces? I don't think a map has to be considered unfinished if during the development its name was changed, thus not further developed with the old name (tho I cannot say if the current 1.0 is that finished). Mostly assuming here, as the Download link doesn't work for me.

Yes, Elemental Forces does seem to be the developed version of the same mod.

Description The last year of World War One

Good Points

• Interesting situation, with the Bolsheviks as an AI-controlled wild card, spamming infantry and attacking both sides
• The US has a factory in France, rather than conducting long convoys.

Bad Points

• Slow-moving units on a large map
• The map uses insets, which is either irrelevant (Germany's African colonies) or disruptive, an inset map dividing Eastern France into many small areas.

This game idea would have worked better on a conventional European map, with faster movement but limited combat rounds.

Bad Points

• Many ahistorical elements such as
  Russia in the war immediately
  US lacks a big income advantage
  The logistical difficulties of interior Asia are not reflected
• The lack of naval bases slows down naval movement

• Distinctive unit art
• Some WW3 specific units
• Arab League as Soviet ally diversifies play some
• Map follows power-war boundaries

Bad Points

• Large, slow-playing map
• No victory conditions
• Nuclear weapons are in the game, but not cost-effective
• It is hard to stop the Soviets from overrunning Europe and then hard for the Americans to get back in.

• The map was expanded, so at 100% zoom, you can see too little of the map. You can reduce the zoom, but it blurs the image a little

I would say this is a limit of the program, in general for the zoom quality. @RoiEX was working on a enhanced zoom; I really wonder if he just gave up.
