@rogercooper said in Roger's Scenario Thread:
- Historical entrance of nations
I very much disagree. That was a huge turn-off for me. If you consider the size of the map and the movement of the units or even what is taken in 1 turn, a turn cannot be more than 1 month (more like 1 or 2 weeks), yet the powers enter the game so early that it is not even remotely justifiable on a historical stand point.
For example, the game is supposed to start at the start of WW1, and Italy joins on the second turn. Historically, Italy joined almost 10 months into the war. There is absolutely no way on a map of this scope that a turn can be anything remotely close to 10 months: it really feels like Italy joins when the war has barely started:unamused_face: , so this definitely spoils the historicity of the game for me (or it is one of the biggest things doing so).

@cernel You have a good point.

@rogercooper Try different alliances to make interesting things happen. I have been playing conquest of the new world deluxe for a couple of months but I am about ready for some more Vikings.
-
@ted-self Feel free to improve this mod. It was somebody's experiment. The unit images are nice, there is not much else to recommend to it.

Good Points
- Straightfoward rules set
- Low unit density
Bad Points
- Russia is too weak, falling too quickly before the Western Allies can pressure the Axis.
-
@rogercooper Naples is the capital of Italy?
(And I think that it should be forbidden to have map names which are just the generic names of any wars, be it "Second World War" or "Great War".)
-
@cernel Lots of maps put the capital of Italy effectively in Naples, because Rome is too close to the boundary between Northern Italy and Southern Italy.
This is the only mod that starts "Second World War". That is less confusing than all the mods starting with "World War II".
This could have been a really a good mod with better balancing.
